Ardeen Villa, 350 sqm in located in Ranna, Tangalle has direct access to the Kahandamodara beach 30 metres away. Built on an acre of beachfront land it has two large 42 sqm bedrooms with sea view and a family suite of 45 sqm. Each room has an ensuite with bidet and separate shower cubicle. Fans, AC and WIFI. The 2 sea view rooms additionally have an outdoor shower. The family suite has a separate shower and bath tub and twin wash basins. The indoor courtyard with a beautiful frangipani tree adds a touch of class to the setting. A separate play room for the kids and the large dining and lounge area provides privacy as well as togetherness making the villa unique. During the day peacocks and wild fowl nest in the gardens. On a full moon night turtles may be seen swimming ashore to lay their eggs outside the villa. The comforting breeze of the sea accompanied with the sound of the waves caressing the shore uplift the soul, energizing the body and wiping away the cares of the world. Guests carry back fond memories of this paradise with joy and bliss rarely experienced before. The villa has a large pool and the gardens are beautifully landscaped with exotic tropical plants and trees. Coconut palms, frangipani, water lilies, mango trees and the natural fauna and vegetation make it a hidden gem ensconced midst the serenity of nature. The lounge area provides a magnificent view of the ocean and pool. Meals can be taken indoors or outside in the cabana right on the beach or in the cabana near the BBQ. The entrance to the villa via a private driveway leads to a fish pond with water lilies which makes it a favorite nesting place for finches and king fishers. The furniture is traditional comfortable Sri Lankan lounges with the walls adorned with original paintings of budding local artists. The staff quarters is 50 metres away from the villa for its resident staff. A 30 kva auto switchover generator is installed for power back up.

Breakfast is included in the room rates. The villa is ideal for one or two families or groups not exceeding 8 persons. The entire villa needs to be booked. The villa is for the sole use of the resident guests. Outsiders are not permitted to enter the villa premises when guests are resident unless they are friends. We do not sell liquor but guests can bring their own supplies for consumption. No charge for corkage. We recommend you bring your own favourite spirits and wines as they might not be readily available as well as more expensive. Local beer is of good quality and relatively cheap and very popular. Our staff are friendly but always respect your privacy. We have a resident manager on site who is available to assist you with your needs 24 hours a day. If you need assistance with transport to the many attractions in the area, we have arranged with outside transport owners special rates which you can avail yourself of. For those who want to be active we offer volleyball, beachball, badminton, angling, kite flying, walking tours, cycling, boat rides, fishing trips, canoeing, swimming, chess, card games, darts and other games for kids.

For nature lovers there are many interesting sites and places to visit. A boat ride to the Kalametiya Bird Sanctuary 10 minutes away boasting more than 60 species of birds can be arranged. Kahandamodara lagoon is 400 meters away and is the habitat of a variety of water birds that nest in the marshes and mangroves. Day trips to the two of the largest and most famous game reserves, Yala and Uda Walawe can be undertaken from the villa. A drive to Yala takes 2 hours and Udawalawe 80 minutes where elephant, leopard, bear, deer, wild boar, crocodiles and other mammals and bird life can be sighted. The famous Bundala Bird Sanctuary is a 70 minute drive. Dolphin and whale watching is popular and transport can be arranged for a half day trip to these locations. The UNESCO listed Heritage City of Galle can be reached within an hour. There are a number of surf and bathing beaches nearby. Go to Unawatunne beach and swim with the turtles. Boat rides and fishing trips of interest to anglers are arranged. The eighteen hole International Golf Resort is a 20 minute drive. Turtle beach is a 15 minute drive where turtles are seen laying their eggs on the beach. The staff can arrange transportation for half day or day trips to these places with a picnic lunch provided. A visit to the local fresh produce and fruit markets is an interesting experience. A day trip ( 2.5 hours) to the hill town of Ella famous for its waterfalls, tea plantations, nine arch railway bridge, trek to little Adams Peak and an exploration of the mountains and rolling valleys is a must. We recommend that guests book for a week or more to be able discover the several attractions that abound in the Southern coastline. We provide free pick up from the airport for stays over 7 days for groups travelling together. For stays of over 14 days we provide free pick up and drop off to the airport. Our chef prepares excellent meals, both local and western and vegetarian.
