If you want to pick up some supplies or treat the family to an ice-cream on a hot afternoon, a quick six-minute walk or one-minute drive you’ll arrive at the local Matapouri Bay store. You can also get your caffeine fix here, or why not just make use of the Nespresso machine back at home. For days in the sun, an incredible view and all the comforts of home, Matapouri Magic might just be what you're looking for! Adults should also closely supervise young children to ensure that they do not climb the horizontal wooden slats in the front deck should bring their own Nespresso compatible pods to make use of the available note a bond may be charged at certain times of the year. A 10-minute drive from Tutukaka or a 2 hour 25 minute drive from Auckland and you'll find yourself in the marine paradise that is Matapouri. Matapouri is one of those idyllic spots, where every corner you turn you'll find yourself in awe as you stumble upon another azure blue cove lined with Pohutukawa or golden dunes. There's much to explore with Whale Bay nearby being accessed via a 15 minute bush walk, and of course the legendary mermaid pools a large natural set of rock pools set against the ocean perfect for swimming in at low tide.
