The white sand of Mangawhai Surf Beach is jut a 9-minute drive - be sure to pack the sunscreen. Head to the local cafe's, shops, market and the famous Mangawhai Tavern when you feel like dining out - all just a short walk away as well as other amazing restaurants. Abel Tasman National Park is the smallest National Park in New Zealand, but it is one of the most scenic. Abel Tasman boasts pristine white sandy beaches, tranquil estuaries and wonderful forested headlands. The Coastal Track is world famous, and visitors can choose to explore it on their own, or with a guide. Other ways to explore the coastline include sea kayaking, yacht, or water taxis. At the southern entrance to Abel Tasman National Park there is fantastic opportunity for visitors to swim with seals.
