Belém is a very popular neighborhood amongst tourists and locals alike. There is a very authentic feel to the area, with many authentic shops, restaurants, and cafés. But also new and more modern establishments are opening their doors in this area. It will be very easy to find everything you need around the apartment, and you are within walking distance from many historical landmarks, and the riverside. Getting to the city center of Lisbon is also very easy. There is enough public transport, such as buses, trains, and trams, to bring you there in a heartbeat. Also, the train to the beaches near Lisbon leaves from the Belém train station, and the ferry to the other side of the river that gives access to the beaches of Costa da Caparica leaves from Belém.
