It's a real residential and working class neighbourhood, with shops, cafes, supermarkets and public transportation within 2-5 min by foot. It's not a touristic place at the city center, but yet close enough (20 min walk or 5 min to Marquês Metro Station). You'll get the real feeling of the city in this neighbourhood! Metro is also just a 5 min walk. The apartment is very silent, as the windows face the back of the building. There are traditional grocery shops that are very nice and run by local people who love to serve the costumers nicely. There's also a nice and well known square (Praça do Marquês), where you have one of the main metro stations and lots of trees. This square is used as a passing by area, but also as a chilling place for both young people and seniors.
