Back in 2015, during a weekend getaway, we fell in love with a beautiful old mansion in Porto's Historic City Center. As we strolled by, its enigmatic aura and fantastic location captured our imagination. Little did we know that this weekend trip would change our lives. We embarked on a challenging journey to find the means to make our dream a reality. After Countless sleepless nights and knocking on many doors we could finally start renovation, what we thought would take a couple of months turned into years. We were lucky to meet a talented young architect named Ren Ito, who shared our enthusiasm for the project. With his passion for architecture and a dedicated team, we were able to transform the old ruins into something truly spectacular, restoring the original beauty and charm of the old Merchant's House. Finally, in 2022 we proudly opened the doors of Casa Kala to the world and welcomed our first guests. We are thrilled to welcome you and share our love for Porto.
