The apartment is in the centre of the city. Baixa is an elegant district that comprises the grid of streets north of the Praça do Comércio, roughly between the Cais do Sodré and the Alfama district beneath the Lisbon Castle, and extends northwards towards the Rossio and Figueira squares and the Avenida da Liberdade. It is near the Chiado neighborhood, an lovely district, charming old bookshops, local and major international fashion brands, giving it a lively cosmopolitan ambience at any time of the day. There you'll find Café Brasileira, one of the oldest places of the city with it’s remarkable interior. Another local attractions: - Avenida da Liberdade: The city’s version of Paris’ Champs Elysées. It’s a tree-lined boulevard noted for its tailoring shops and cafes. - Rossio: It has been a meeting place for people of Lisbon for centuries. Some of the cafés and shops of the square date from the 18th century, like the Café Nicola, where poet Manuel Maria Barbosa du Bocage used to meet friends.
