We are Anja and Smiljan, Štajerka and Prlek, who have been discovering the beauties of Slovenia in recent years. As Kreslin sings, “From Goričko to Piran” and so on, our wanderings took place. During our vacation in Goriška Brda, the first ideas for a mobile house appeared, which will be not only a house, but a house with a soul. Where you will feel at home, not only at home, but just like the smell of the best strudel, or the smell of freshly cut grass, or the most pleasant hug of a little niece. And so we ended our holiday in Brda with a new trip to Bela Krajina, which by the way we have not yet explored. And after visiting the BIG BERRY resort, we decided on the way back to Maribor that this was it. Let the mobile house be in Bela Krajina, along the river Kolpa.

MAGNOLIA HOUSE by the RIVER is a mobile home on the banks of the Kolpa River in the BIG BERRY in Primostek in Bela Krajina. The house can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children. It’s furnished in a modern and comfortable way, the living room has a sofa bed with two extra beds, a smart TV with NETFLIX, YouTube and other applications or you can watch a TV program. A small fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator and a glass-ceramic stove and a folding table that comes in handy on rainy days, and can comfortably seat 6 people. An inverter air conditioner is also installed, which enables heating even on colder days. The mobile home has two bedrooms, a larger one with a queen size bed, a bedside table and the smaller one with a double size bed. Both have cabinets with hangers and shelves for storage. The bathroom is equipped with a shower with the option of overhead or ordinary shower, toilets, sink and a convenient shelf for storing toiletries, first aid kit and a hairdryer. And my favourite space, the large terrace along the entire length of the house, on one side offers a summer kitchen with a Webber grill and a larger sink, in the cabinet there is also an additional induction cooker and a massive wooden dining table, and on the other side a lounge corner, both with a wonderful, direct view to the river Kolpa. ! Local attractions and activities in the area: the possibility of renting a canoe, sup, bicycle and electric bicycle (reservation can be made at the reception of the resort). Possibility to rent a private wellness in the resort. Rafting on the river Kolpa. Walking, hiking and biking trails. Metlika old town: 4 km. Gradac town: 5 km. Open-air museum, farm Šrajf: 12 km. Horseback riding: 12 km. Wine shops and breweries: several in the vicinity of 20 km. Novo Mesto is 30 km away, while Ljubljana is 101 km away, Rijeka 130 km and Zagreb 88 km. We recommend tours: Due to its beautiful turquoise water, the Krupa spring is the most beautiful spring in Bela Krajina and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in Slovenia. The short, barely two and a half kilometer long karst river originates under a 30 meter high gabled wall and flows into the Lahinja river in the village of Gradac. The area along the river was already inhabited in prehistoric times, as evidenced by, among other things, the only Paleolithic cave station in Bela Krajina, the Jewish House. From the resort, drive to the village of Praprot, where you turn left towards Krupa. Just before the village, you park in the larger parking lot on your left, where there are also information boards. The path to the parking lot to the spring is not a requirement, it is also suitable for children, normal hiking equipment is sufficient. Black human fish If you like peculiarities from the animal world, you should not miss the opportunity to meet a special inhabitant in Bela Krajina, which you will not meet anywhere else in the world. This is a black human fish, also called a swamp fish. It is an endemic of the underground waters of the Belokrajna karst world. The Jelševnik spring in the municipality of Črnomelj is the only location where marshes can be observed in an open-air museum. At the Zupančič tourist farm, you can learn more about the black human fish and watch a film about this interesting creature.
