Take morning walks to watch the lobster boats come and go from Wells Harbor three-quarters of a mile north, spend your afternoons boogie boarding and sunbathing on the ocean beach, and search for hidden treasures in the dozens of antique shops that line Wells' stretch of Route 1 three miles west. Wake up to the sounds of coastal birds nesting in the neighboring wetlands and brew a fresh pot of coffee in the cozy kitchen. Assemble a homemade fruit salad for breakfast using local Maine blueberries, toss your flip-flops and beach towels in your bag, and spend the morning building sandcastles on Wells Beach. Come home at lunchtime to prepare a New England clambake on the charcoal grill while the free WiFi streams some tunes.
