Thank you to the friendly Dimitrios, Anastasia & Thomas for a great stay! With all the great reviews for Virsa, we decided to stay for 4 nights during a visit to Ioannina last month. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by Dimitrios, who was incredibly welcoming with a smile! Took us up to the room, gave us a key to come and go (they lock up at night) and was really accommodating when we asked for hot drinks! The room itself is spacious, including a fridge, dressing table, space to hang clothes, hair dryer and even a balcony! It's a modern, refurbished space yet with a classic, traditional home feel! Downstairs is a cafe during the day - a nice spot to have a drink and look out to the incredible lake just opposite the hotel. There’s also a courtyard to catch some sun (when it’s not raining!) and the breakfast area out back. Virsa offers a filling buffet breakfast with a good range of options - croissants, pastries, bread, cereals, fruit and cake. Coffee, as you’d expect, is incredible! Was nice to be greeted by the owners each morning, a lovely way to start the day! Location wise Virsa is well placed for all the Ioannina sights and attractions - cross the road to the lake or visit the numerous bars and restaurants right next door! Highly recommend Diodone to the left of the hotel entrance. Most places in the area open late, too! A short 5-10 minute walk takes you to the castle, museums, the centre of town with lots of shops. It’s about a 10 minute (~€8 to €10) taxi journey to the airport and 15 minutes to the university, too. Download the Ioannina Radio Taxi app, it makes it easier! Overall, Virsa Boutique Rooms is a highly recommended stay in Ioannina! The friendly family and location make all the difference. They are very accommodating - Feels like home! Located next to the river where you can raft and also a walking trail that is going through the hotel. The staff were so helpful and welcoming. The views are amazing.

The place was very clean and the bed was very comfy. The balcony was beautiful, although it’s very close to the next room.
