Chalet Meroloh Kuala Kangsar ตั้งอยู่ในกัวลากังซาร์ ห่างจากศูนย์การค้าอิออนมอลล์ กินตาซิตี้ 40 กม. it was behind the golf course, so it was well lilted and easy to find. There was a small kitchen with washing sink which is very convenient. We had lunch in the cafe nearby which was very reasonable and food was delicious.

Surely when choosing a hotel the name of it can become a factor? For me I was instantly attracted to any place calling itself 'boss.' it lent gravitas, authority and savviness to the place. Anyway, kidding aside, whenever I book any accommodation I always look at their recent reviews—you'd be silly to ignore recent guests' experiences and thoughts. This hotel appealed to me as it had consistently positive reviews, combined with the reasonable price. Added to this, another essential factor for me is a central location. So far, all boxes ticked. Located about a mile straight up one road (literally) from the train station, about 5 mins to Chinatown (thus, v central!), I have thoroughly enjoyed staying here for my seven night stay. Kimi, the day/evening receptionist is very friendly and if you ask, he'll give you great tips about dining, etc. Please note, there is no receptionist between 12am until 12pm. You receive a key fob so you can go in/out yourself and there's a phone number in reception in case if problems. My room was spacious, clean, comfortable and importantly very quiet. It was very satisfactory for my needs. Only downside was the lack of a kettle—to make any hot beverages you have to go the lobby where they have a hot water dispenser. My bed was extremely comfortable (and super clean!), the shower was powerful and hot, and the wi-fi was excellent. And I can't emphasise this enough, this hotel is so peaceful and quiet! For those who choose wisely and select this hotel for your stay in Ipoh you have an excellent hawker cafe opposite, and across the road (ridiculously busy four lane beast where I found it extremely difficult at times to cross without dying) you will find one of Ipoh's trendiest and most popular wining/dining centres: e.g. Starbucks, Chagee (great teashop), a superb Korean BBQ restaurant, Hard Rock Cafe and a lively and very entertaining live music bar called Wharehouse.
