The place was really great! It was an ancient cave with restored Christian motifs in it. It was close to many touristic places, and restaurants. It was also a quite cozy place with lovely staff and environment. It has a magnificent view of pigeon valley.

Serinn House ligger i Ürgüp og har en have, fælles opholdsområde, en terrasse og bar. Highly recommend Serinn House in Urgup as the best place to experience the magic of Cappadocia. A beautifully renovated 3 room cave hotel a 15 minute downhill walk outside the charming village of Urgup, which has all the old cave homes, lovely places to eat and gorgeous local hand crafts and all the Turkish souvenirs. I advise getting a taxi back as its a hefty uphill walk back, there is a taxi rank and a taxi will set you back about 300 Lira - around €3. Erin and her staff are beautiful, friendly and helpful people and they made our stay really special. Erin's English is impeccable and all her recommendations were brilliant. We stayed at the end of October and I posted a picture of SOME of the gorgeous breakfast - we were the only ones staying in the hotel and there was everything you might possibly want and the quality was outstanding, The whole experience was so much better than many of the fancy or boutique hotels I've stayed in and is really great value for money. I only wish I could go back! Urgup is a great base to explore Cappadocia and much prettier and real than places like Goreme which were pretty cheap and tacky looking but oddly expensive.

The evening discussion over tea with Faruk and my son, the father and original founder of this establishment was a highlight for me. Faruk had so much knowledge of current world affairs, stories to tell, and wisdom about life in general and the evolution of society in general. Then on the hotel side, the breakfast served by Faruk's wife.. Every ingredient fresh and either grown from their own garden or carefully picked from local producers. The jams were homemade and a real delight, and the omelette and cheese... Starting the day over this very healthy and plentiful breakfast was a real treat. Sahin, their son and the manager of the hotel was kind and providing good advice on how to make the best out of our stay - for example advising us to take the green tour instead of the red tour we had booked to be able to benefit from the opportunity to visit the underground city and the transportation to take us to sites we would not otherwise have been able to see. The rooftop terrace offered a fantastic vista from which to see the hot air balloons rise at sunrise.
