Every corner of the place feels special, and it’s clear that a lot of heart went into building and running it. You can’t compare this to a standard hotel stay—this is an experience. If you choose the Viking experience for dinner, prepare to be surprised. The feeling, the food, the entire setting—it’s something else. The fish dish in particular was incredibly fresh and simply prepared in the best way possible. It lets the flavor speak for itself. The Viking house is truly one of a kind. How can anything compare to that? Olef clearly loves his place and his history. He doesn’t just run the hotel—he lives it. He is a genuine Viking, and it shows in every part of what he’s created here.

Amazing spot and incredible view as the hotel is located on the waters edge of the fjord. Staff were helpful and it’s only a short drive to the main town.

Sara is an excellent and caring host! She gave us great tips on where to shop and what to see, and was always available to answer questions about the house and the surrounding area. Villa Freya is an exeptional holiday home with really everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We stayed there with our children and their partners and felt right at home immediately.
