A recently renovated guest house in Selmes and within 35 km of Alqueva Dam, B&B Casa da Ponte Selmes Vidigueira features pool with a view, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi. The man who met us was very respectful and they gave us free breakfast on the first day. Their treatment was very nice and I would like to thank them for their good reception and good treatment.

Set in Ferreira do Alentejo, in a historic building, 48 km from Flour Museum, SOLAR DOS FRADES is a recently renovated guest house with an outdoor swimming pool and spa and wellness centre. Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! It’s very close to the village, which makes it easy to shop and have dinner at restaurants. Very safe and entertaining for kids to play around free.

Our airconditioning failed with was notable at the reception, directly the staff knocked out our door to fix it. Quality bedding and clean. Nice rooms. All rooms have special names with dedicated sweet referred to the room type. 15 minutes walk time downtown.

Gorgeous house, retaining loads of old features, very clean and very well equipped with everything you could need. Dolce Gusto coffee machine. Perfect location with a stunning view of the castle from the house and patio. You can park right at the front door from 6pm until 11am. The owner was very nice and extremely responsive and helpful.
