Very charming, family-run hotel in the hills of the Douro Valley with not only an extraordinary view on the bending river. But most strikingly - the house has personality which obviously reflects the owner’s passion for place, history and intimacy. Vintage items, personal photos here and there makes you feel like staying at a friends’ place who also has lovely recommendations at hand when you look for places to explore. And if you want to just relax and enjoy the view - the hotel’s pool and the surrounding terraces are just perfect to calm down. Moreover: one of us was sick during our stay - and the hosts were super helpful, understanding and supporting, this was extraordinary. Thank you so much!

My friends and I all agreed the property was exceptional. The communal rooms were spacious and comfortable, the views from the balcony area were breathtaking and we had all the facilities we needed for a comfortable stay. It was a delight to have breakfast prepared for us each morning with a variety of fruit , yogurt, cold meats and pastries. There was even a homemade cake one morning. The staff were friendly ,courteous and extremely helpful . There were responsive to our requests and quick to address any problems Highly recommended

Offering an outdoor pool and hot tub, Douro Suites is situated in Baião in the Norte Region Region, 43 km from Porto. The accommodation boasts a spa bath. Guimarães is 41 km away. Excellent! A wonderful hotel right on the banks of the Douro River. The suits are comfortable and well equipped. We were looked after by the very friendly staff - Carla, Tamiä, Silvia and the kitchen staff. Always a smile and very helpful. The hotel has been designed in a very tastefully manner and with greatest love for detail. Just beautiful! The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of freshly prepared foods and is very beautifully decorated. The picnic basket is a must! A wonderful place to unwind, relax and enjoy. Offering an outdoor pool and terrace, Casa do Rio Quinta do Vallado is situated in Castelo Melhor, in the Norte Region Region, 13 km from Vila Nova de Foz Coa and 47 km from Mirandela. The wine menu was excellent. The view from the room marvelous.
