Situated at the base of the wild Tsitsikamma Mountains, The Fernery overlooks an impressive 30-metre waterfall in the Sanddrift River gorge. Fernery Lodge is in an absolutely beautiful location, perched on a cliff with breathtaking views over the ocean. We stayed in one of the chalets and loved it — everything is wooden and beautifully designed, giving it a super cozy and unique feel. The chalet was very spacious and well-equipped, with a lovely bath and two showers, which was a great touch. The pool area is really nice, and the property has several hot tubs spread around, perfect to enjoy both during the day and in the evening. The whole atmosphere felt romantic, peaceful, and genuinely special.

We were close to nature and saw a lot of animals in our short stay, we should have booked for longer! It is a perfect location for a family or business event. Nestled in the tranquil surroundings of Maitland Nature Park, Thunzi Bush Lodge offers country style, self-catering accommodation with traditional décor and a balcony with forest views. The place was well kept and very nice views of the bush from the Charlet. We quite enjoyed the hiking trail which was a good distance to walk.
