Beautiful hike through a special terrain, though I find it a bit galling to spend 5 euros each to walk through nature. Crowds up to the first bit was annoying, as well as the utterly pointless horse carriages, which really don't belong in this century. After the gorge (which was very impressive) you should carry on walking. There are wonderful 10 km round hikes along and above the river in several directions, and basically nobody does them! p.s. Lose the hideous plastic barriers at the gorge guys, it's supposed to be nature, not an inner city building site...
It's a tad wet. There are a few spots that are dark - I just used my cell phone flashlight to make sure my kids weren't spooked. But it was amazing and not to be missed. Do not think you can park closer to the trail head - it's not happening. Just suck it up, and start walking. Totally worth it. There is a WONDERFUL little restaurant another 20 minutes up the mountain with delicious food, wonderful (English proficient) employees where you can rest, refuel, and then find your way to a little gondola to go down the mountain quickly and cheaply.
Be prepared to walk 2-3 Km on stone in wet conditions. Small umbrella and flashlight not necessary, but a good idea. Anyone over 180 Cm in height, be prepared to stoop occasionally. Worth the trip to see if you enjoy natural settings.
Beautiful winter covered in ice or summer when the waterfalls cascade onto the rushing gorge waters. There are horse drawn carriages you can use to get to there from the Olympic Stadium if you don't want to walk to the gorge.
It is a decent distance for walking. Wear comfortable HIKING shoes with good traction. If there is any wintery snow or ice, the pass to the gorge will be closed for safety reasons. Bundle up in the winter. It is a gorgeous walk though, with lots to see and great for kids to run and get their energy out. We parked down by the Olympic arena and walked from there. On the way back, used the bathroom at the bakery and grabbed a warm beverage. Perfect way to finish off the hike!
A must do! Easy enough for most people. Great little restaurants on the walk up. Bring a rain jacket and maybe a small torch for dark spots. At the end there are piles of stones in the water and the water edge everywhere. Make one too. We hiked back down on an expert trail the other side of the gorge. Not for the faint of heart but awesome, be careful of you decide to try.
Love this hotel! Have stayed here several times and am more than satisfied with the accommodations, location, and staff. Our room was newly updated and very clean & modern. The location is perfect with easy access to the bus and the Partnachklamm. Also an easy walk into town. Make sure to enjoy a beer and pretzel on the outdoor patio while watching the ski jumpers. The staff made us a fabulous cheese sandwich to take on our hike and their apple kuchen is the best! Very fun place to stay!
The room is clean and comfortable. Nice views from the room. Staffs at front desk and dinning area are very friendly. Lots of options for breakfast buy the same option is offered every day. Hotel is 10 minutes walk from main train station. Free bus card for days stayed which can be used to ride to Partnachklamm and alsee. Lake.

Basically everything was above expectations. The hotel is quite close to Partnachklamm (approx. half an hour away). The territory is unusually large.
I like free parking in front of the hostel. Location is also great - near the olympic ski jump facilities and Partnachklamm gorge.
