The Font màgica de Montjuïc (dancing water fountain) was really nice and is a huge attraction. They do a show approximately Thursday - Saturday nights at 9 pm - 10 pm but check the schedule first as the times vary based on season. This is free and tends to get really crowded. You can watch from near the top by the front of the museum but you will not be able to hear the music or you can find a spot near the fountains for a better experience but there are more crowds.
Amazing mountainous area with several cultural attractions, including the Montjuic Castle, Joan Miro museum, many parks and botanical gardens, very beautiful parks and scenery, including a great ariel view of Barcelona, also has a huge public swimming pool and some cafes for lunch or snack.
would recommend to allocate at least one full day for visiting this are as there are a lot of cool things to see and would highly recommend starting from the art museum and then going up the hill ending with the castle and then going down with the telecabin that leaves you conveniently next to the metro station
Get here early, at least 1.5 hours before the show start and sit either around the edge of the main fountain or on the first setback of steps behind the fountain otherwise you won’t hear the music. Ignore the men selling cocktails and beers around the crowds, you can buy them cheaper from the vendor carts dotted around the plaza! And you don’t know what’s actually in the cocktails...I wouldn’t risk it.
Nice fort on hill , great view on Barcelona, Hills, city and sea. Nice long way to go up walking - although you can also take taxi, bus, cable car.. all well organized. Do stroll thru the park going down again.
The best way to organize the trip is to take the Cable Car on the way up to the castle, and walking down. On this walk down you can see the botanic garden, Olympic stadium and Museum and at the end the Magic fountain.
