This modern hotel is centrally located 5 minutes’ walk from Barcelona’s Urquinaona Metro Station and 400 metres from the Palau de la Musica. It offers 24-hour reception and free Wi-Fi.

Exceptionally friendly staff especially those on the welcome desk. The room was very clean and fresh with bathrobe and slippers. Relatively quiet location but easy to access the metro/bus and walk to gothic quarter.

H10 Madison 4* Sup has an outdoor swimming pool, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Barcelona. With free WiFi, this 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk.

The location of this hotel is excellent. I could see the Cathedral from my balcony which was pretty cool. Having said that, I also had no issues with noise even though I was on level 2. The room was so comfortable and large - I loved that there was a ceiling fan. The staff were all so lovely and helpful.

Catalonia Magdalenes, hotel in Barcelona

Catalonia Magdalenes Hotel is set in Barcelona, 200 metres from the Cathedral of Barcelona and offers a terrace with an outdoor pool with views of the Cathedral and a spa.

It's a brilliant location - and I recommend the hotel even just on that basis. Charming side street, close to Cathedral, Ramblas, Metro station, buses and a lot of good shops and restaurants. Rooftop pool/bar area a nice oasis. Staff were friendly and very helpful - e.g. helping book Sagrada tour tickets, restaurants etc and help/directions with transport. Good sized room which had small balconies over the street, so felt a real part of the "old" city style.

Hotel situated in a great location, easy to get to all the sights on foot. The rooftop area is a great benefit to the hotel, however it does open to outside guests from 6pm so can get very busy. You need to make sure you book your spot.

Picasso Museum

Picasso’s iconic paintings may grace galleries across the globe, but this is where it all began. The artist spent his formative years in Barcelona, and this compact museum houses a world-class collection of his early works. As you wander the Picasso Museum’s medieval halls and stone staircases, you’ll see his shifting style unfold through line drawings, Blue Period oils and the entire Las Meninas series.

Also under renovations. Staff were not very clear about what ticket was for what, so a bit over priced. Back packs must be left in a paid for locker so do that immediately you arrive instead of traipsing back and forth. Easy to spend an afternoon here. If you love fine art, it's a must do. Bus and metro transport easily available. The shop was delightful for little souvenirs for art lovers back home.

This is a beautiful building with lots of interesting Picasso sketchbooks as well as paintings, but it has a very confusing layout. We unfortunately missed part of the exhibition as there was staff at various points directing us in one direction but when we looked at the floor plan afterwards we realised that we had missed a few rooms. I'd advise printing off a floor plan from their website BEFORE you go there.

Friendly and very helpful front desk staf. The lift worked well. Nice indoor/outdoor area to relax and enjoy a complimentary coffee and/or tea. Morning crossants were delicious and the filtered water station was much appreciated to fill our water bottles. Good location...we walked to and from the Picasso museum. We walked to La Pradera-Casa Mila and Segrada Familia and took a cab back after a long day.

I really liked the location. Close to everything, the city center, metro, Picasso museum, Moco museum and shopping streets. The staff was so helpful. We though that we lost our wallet and the owner helped us to find. He was super helpful and caring. I have only nice things to say about the place.
