It was clean but busy. If going it's important to have flip flops for going across the sand to the water, the sand is scorching! Also an umbrella is essential and something to sit on that is substantial if not using a beach lounger. But great for a swim!
A fairly good beach with caution advised as the sand shelves quickly into the sea. There is no natural shade and one sunbed with sunshade costs 10 euros. There are a lot of beach traders selling cold drinks and various wares. They work hard and are friendly. There are also masseurs who are good at their trade but there's a lot of them are they are pretty insistent. Probably better to bring own food as the beach restaurants are expensive and not particularly inspiring.
Don't go there. A lot tourists and Spanish people from all over the world with babies crying. You can pick up bus 11 or 3 and pass that beach going to the east up to 13-15 stations and have wonderful beach with real sand and parrots in palms. Wery clear water. Sand in the water and you can do snokeling around rocks.
The beaches to east of the city are really lively and appear to be aimed at a younger crowd as there are lots of bars, cafes etc whereas the beaches to the west towards Marbella are definitely quieter.
Hire a bike & keep on riding .. when you run out of bike path and come to a small town - just keep going but turn right down a small road which leads you to very local, small beaches surrounded by rock walls
Best to stay close to the Bars so you can get refreshments and fresh squeezed juices and must . Also the fish and clamps and sardines grilled on sand at the beach test better than any restaurant ! Enjoy the simple thinks on the beach have fun and chill out ! :)
Conveniently located just 15 minutes on foot from the Cathedral and another 10 minutes to Malagueta beach, we managed to get around the city on foot with our kids aged 12 and 14 without any trouble. The parking right next to us was very important as we visited a lot outside the city. The apartment is clean and provides for most necessities, particularly appreciated the fact that it had a second bedroom, so the kids did not have to sleep on sofa. The host was really helpful and informative. Supermarket very close, just 150 meters away.
The location of the appartment is perfect. The malagueta beach is literally across the appartment and a big supermarket (supersol, prices are very cool) just opposite the appartment. A lot of choices to eat ( breakfast, lunch and dinner). I will recommend a local family owned tapas restaurant just next to the appartment called 'La sacramento tapas'. 5 to 10 minutes walk from the popular tourist sites. The city of Malaga (malagueta) is beautifull, clean, lovely gardens, lots of green and the people are so so friendly.
Very good small hotel in quiet district, but with strategic location. Five minutes from the central railway station and bus station. Ten minutes walking from the San Andres beach uses by locals. 15 mins walking from the city center. 20 minutes from Malagueta beach. 10 minutes from El Corte Ingles and Larios shopping malls. The room was good and the ventilation system is perfect. Highly recommend.
Great location within 10 min walking distance of all Málaga main locations (Cathedral, Calle Larios, Alcazaba, Picasso Museum, etc.) and 2 min walk to Malagueta beach. Appartment had everything we needed (washer/dryer was super convenient) and was very clean. Awesome views from the balcony were a plus. Luis was very responsive and personable, and provided great dining recommendations.
The apartment was wonderful. Just a 5 minute walk to Malagueta beach and a 15/20 minute walk into the heart of Malaga. There were plenty of restaurants closer and the host provided a map with lots of local recommendations upon arrival. The beds were large and comfortable, the AC worked well at night. Wifi was perfect the whole stay, including during a few videos call for work.
The Hostel was great and gave some information about what to look for in Málaga. Its in a good location, very near Marques de Larios (famous street in Málaga), and about a 15-20 minutes walking distance both to the train/bus station and to the Malagueta beach.
excellent location, overlooking Malagueta beach, and Malaga Port. Within walking distance of beach, port and city. Plenty of local shops also. Spacious apartment. Adequate equipment and furnishings.
The apartment is new, very clean, 10 min walk from the center and 20 min from La Malagueta beach.
