Hotel in Llanfairpwllgwyngyll
Carreg Bran is a family-run country hotel nestled in 3 acres of gardens located just 1 minute from the A55 and close to the Menai Straits. The inn was absolutely charming, and the staff was wonderful. Wished we could’ve stayed longer.
The history in this place is amazing, but we did not find any guides or tours here, so we wished we might have read or watched a program to learn more about it before visiting. It has a lot of dark spiral staircases, which were a bit spooky for our 7 year old and would very much reduce what you could see if you have difficulty with stairs or heights. It was dry when we were there, but rain might make it more difficult too. That said, the views were great. You can see a long way over the water from the castle. There are some displays inside about the various moncharchs that have lived there and about the investiture of the Prince of Wales. You can stand on the same balcony that Prince Charles was on after he became Prince of Wales.
The people were most helpful , the town needs a little as are often are in the UK , as Often do,my preference is in France as I go there , but was taken back with The town and I and my wife will come again and stay with your Hotel .
Beautiful especially in the evening. Didn't visit inside the castle but certainly will be back to do so in near future ok only planned a short stay. Avoid visiting to late in the the day time . Traffic in and out is very congested. Best early morning and evening if traveling through. Better than expected and a truely beautiful place.
We didn't visit the castle this time, have been before. Visited the lake railway and slate museum, Bedgelert, Anglesey especially Beaumaris with a boat trip round Puffin Island saw many birds and seals, Also went to Portmerion which is absolutely fantastic.
If it is raining, paths can be slippery so wear good soled shoes or boots. Steps obviously but there are disabled access areas. Staff are very informative, helpful and accommodating. Gift shop. On Remembrance weekend there was a marquee offering snacks and drinks with seating. Watched the parade into the square, very poignant.
A well written long-dated history. I must admit, if you are a POKEMON follower, you have excellent spot with hundreds of them. On serious note, beautiful place with lovely seaside nearby and ideal place for long walks.
