Pay extra to avoid the queue. We had bought tix, but didn’t pay to avoid the queue, thinking it wasn’t necessary bc of timed tix. However, just-let-out school kids overwhelmed the line & made it impossibly long so we couldn’t get in before closing.
We decided last minute not to pay extra for skip the lane and we got in within 5 minutes. It didn't take long at all!! Well if you don't mind a small wait time. Check how busy it is before you pay extra is my tip! May not be busy at all.
I am really glad we experienced the Eye, although it is expensive and it rained the whole time we rode. It is a great place to see how the city is laid out and find landmarks. On a day without rain, the photos would have been spectacular!
It's definitely one to try on your trip to London and not too expensive, but overall, I found it quite underwhelming. Please be sure to have respect for the other users of the Eye and take your turn using each window!
We thought this would be a tourist trap but everyone recommended so we decided to give it a try. Glad we did!! Well worth it. Great views! It was fairly busy the day we were there. The line looked long but the wait wasn't all that long, even without pre-purchased tickets. Don't think I'd spend the extra for the Fast Pass. You can save a few pounds and pick a time slot buying tickets online but I suggest doing so a few days ahead of time.
You can book online for 3-4 attractions in advance to avoid long queue. This booking can be done online and saves time and money You can book London eye alongwith aquarium, madam Tussand and cutty sark

Mark, the manager was especially helpful and made us feel much at home. The breakfast was wonderful, eggs and bacon cooked to serve, and lots of other yummy options. The pub looked wonderful and welcoming. The location across from Waterloo Station and a couple of blocks from the London Eye was a wonderful surprise. We would enjoy staying here again if we ever return.

The location was great. Walkable distance to London eye and Big Ben. The hotel was clean and nice. The staff are helpful.
I bought tickets in advance because in 2014 they started charging to see the London Eye fireworks. I got there around 7PM with my friends and there were so many people getting in! Took me a while to get past the place they check your tickets but after you pass that you get plenty of time and space to settle. The fireworks were beautiful. To anyone planning to spend the NYE in London: bring food, water and get a good spot as soon as you can. You're probably only going to be able to leave the area around 1AM anyway. The subways stay open until late but they also get super crowded with people heading back home.
I would recommend the combination of attractions, and to book in advance. The London Eye was an amazing experience, the London Dungeons & Madame Tussaud's. The SeaLife Aquarium was good & we were able to casually walk around in there.
The main attractions can be seen and information gained from different types of tours from the London Eye and City Bus Tours to digital audio yours within different individual attractions visited.
