We were thrilled to find such a beautiful setting to stay and relax. What was a pleasent surprise was our young host. She was very professional, quietly present and informative to assist us as guests to answer questions and provide exceptional service. The room 21 was lovely, an older english styling, with sitting chairs to read/drink and watch the beautiful day go by.

From the moment we arrived the young lady at reception treated us like family. The heating wasn’t on in the room so she organised a space heater. My daughter and I were visiting my mum. The property was so homely and beautifully decorated and styled.

Great location and parking. The staff were outstanding. Martin and Margaret were great at breakfast, as were the lady who owns the hotel and the lady who checked me in. Breakfast- wow! Absolutely gorgeous. My room was very clean and comfortable. It was at the back of the hotel and was quiet. I was made to feel really welcome.

The location is fabulous due to its proximity to other areas of interest (Rockcliffe, Port Ling etc). The hotel and extended accommodation are set in fabulous grounds, which are maintained beautifully and provide good morning dog walking. The breakfasts are very good and I found the whole offering very good value. My sister and I expected a room, but we got a mini apartment with a kitchen area, a dining table and a lounge area in addition to the twin bedroom and the shower room. I would stay again.

Old country house charm. The room booked had water issues but they did sort us out a chalet, probably an upgrade to be fair. Nice walking, to rockcliffe stunning beautiful bay.

The Clonyard is set in a beautiful location, perfect for Kippford and the lovely little beach at Rockcliffe, which is about a mile and a half away. It is a friendly family run hotel and dog friendly. The owner's wife makes delicious Thai green and red curries and there is a good choice on the menu. Breakfast is delicious, all freshly cooked.

Nice location , remote, peaceful .Close to the beautiful Rockcliffe beach. The staff were attentive and polite . The food was good although the main, evening meal, dining room did have the feel of a local tea room . The breakfast room however did have an air of old world elegance .
