It is a very nice cozy hotel, 5 minutes walking from the bus or train station. The breakfast was very nice and enough for almost the rest of the day. It was a kettle in the room with tea and coffee, which was very attentive. The staff is very nice, helpful, they look after us very well, special thanks to Caroline for it. We had a great time there. I definitely would choose again this hotel for my stay.

The hotel is well-situated with views of the hills around and only a short distance from Tintern Abbey. It covers a wide plot and much is given over to a lovely well-used garden dotted with warm coloured wooden picnic tables and very pretty flower beds planted to give a natural wildflower look. There is a large covered bar area and a fire-pit for when the weather might be less clement than we experienced. Also a terrace. I loved having a balcony on our first floor room which overlooked the gardens.

Lovely country hotel with good parking, just a mile from Tintern Abbey. Great location. Very friendly staff, great bar food - check out the damson and sloe gin ice cream- awesome- plus very good breakfast. Highly recommended

We liked everything. The room, the location, the design and quality of fittings at the hotel. The staff were superfriendly and so helpful. Had a lovely stroll to Tintern Abbey after dinner.

The warm welcome and excellent service from our responsive host - Marta. Supper and breakfast were really excellent - all home made bread and granola/muesli. Good wine list but a bit expensive. The small bathroom/shower room was very clean and modern with an excellent shower. Delicious cookies to accompany a cup of tea. Lovely view over the Wye, interesting church adjacent and lovely river walk upstream. Close to Tintern Abbey and two Avray Tipping gardens we had arranged to visit.

Attractive bar serving good food menu, lunch and evenings Good selection on breakfast menu with prompt service. Hotel situated on Wye Valley walking circuit and short distance from stunning, 12thC Tintern Abbey. Forest of Dean and Chepstow within easy reach.

Location was perfect right opposite the wonderful river Wye and a few hundred metres from the stunning Tintern Abbey. Cosy and warm in spite of the Welsh mists and damp. Perfect for one person on a mission at Christmas.

Great location (Tintern Abbey, interesting places around to walk to too), nice view from our room (River Wye), Marta was really nice and her husband (we never saw him in person) is an excellent chef, wholly recommend the food (breakfast & dinner).

A warm welcome and a nice room with everything I needed. The food and service in the restaurant was great and the hotel is in a nice location for an evening stroll down the lane opposite to the river, as well as being just up the road from Tintern Abbey. The breakfast in the morning set me up really well for a day's walking.

Location was excellent. Easy walk to Tintern abbey and some nice little cafes and a gift shop. Breakfast was very good as was the food in the evening. We ate at the hotel both nights of our stay. Old station Tintern is worth a visit. Very interesting , old railway carriages form a museum. History of the area and other information. Also the Kingstone brewery, just off the road near the Old Station.
