The grand 19th-century Wynn’s Hotel is located 5 minutes’ walk from Trinity College, Temple Bar and Henry Street. It offers an elegant restaurant, rooms with free Wi-Fi. Lovely breakfast staff very friendly and accommodating.
Stay out of the Temple Bar area. Its a drunken hole built to fleece tourists. The only place I would recommend is the fantastic Elephant and Castle. Only problem is you cannot book a table, but worth the wait. Get the bufallo wings. Best in Ireland.
Do not under any circumstances book the RiverHouse Hotel in Temple Bar on Eustace Street. It's a total dump. Don't let the pictures fool you. See the reviews on Booking. This place should be taken off Booking. It was a total ripoff at $212 a night. Also, be aware of drunken street people trying to hustle you.
Expect to pay around 7.70 Euros or more for a pint, so it is expensive but there is a good atmosphere. Do try other areas for food and drink at more affordable prices but with just as friendly service.
Very busy at night, you can get food more easily at lunchtime (along with live trad music) - we went to Oliver St John Gogarty's. The Palace pub on Fleet Street (the entrance to Temple Bar) is incredible, totally traditional inside, no food, no music, just a drinker's pub.
For as many visitors as it gets, it is a great bar to visit. Been there twice different years and enjoyed the experience both times. If it is packed, just be patient and find a wall to stand up against after you get your beer. Tables around the musician are nearly impossible to get unless you go early before 1 - 3 pm.
Temple Bar area smells like, and is like, a stale and unwashed mens urinal. It is full of drunk and erratic people, urinating everywhere. I'd stay a few blocks away, and just walk there - to see the freak shows.
The location of this hotel was great. Easy walking distance to shopping and restaurants, the art gallery, parks, etc. We also walked to the Temple Bar and the Guinness Factory from the hotel, which is a bit of a longer hike but still reasonable. The room was nicely decorated and appointed. It had a coffee/tea desk area and large modern bathroom with a great shower.
The Fleet is a great choice for a Dublin stay. Well located on the edge of the Temple Bar area, a block south of the Liffey, many of the city’s points of interest are within walking distance of The Fleet. The hotel offers a pleasant ground floor lounge and bar, clean and comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. The friendly staff were exceptionally helpful.
This hotel is extremely well located. In front of the river and across the Temple Bar area. Walking distance to many interesting spots. I was only in Dublin for a long layover and it was greatly located. The staff were so nice and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and economical in comparison to other European hotels we’ve stayed in this same trip.
I've stayed at several places in Dublin, and this was by far the best. The location could not be better- you are truly right in the middle of the Temple Bar action and directly next to a grocery store. This hotel was extremely clean- the rooms, restaurant, and the common areas. I would (and plan to) stay here again!
GREAT location next to St. Patrick’s Cathedral and not too far of a walk from Temple Bar area and Trinity University, as well as Grafton Street. Stayed in two other Maldron hotels during our trip to Ireland and this was by far the best one in terms of cleanliness and amenities.
This hotel is located 1 block from O'Connell street in the middle of City Centre and easy walking distance to many places --- Jameson, Temple Bar, everything along the Liffey, and a huge amount of retail shopping / malls.
The hotel is beautiful. the decor is very nice and it feels like a castle, and the location is very close to Dublin (although with traffic it was about a 45 minute drive from the Temple Bar area). Staff were polite.
The hotel is very central, with the Spire and the Temple Bar at a good walking distance. It's also minutes from a bus stop that takes you straight from and into the airport for just 6€.
walking the city, the pubs in the Temple Bar district, Guinness tour, and we took a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher, fantastic day long tour with a fascinating guide
Book your hotel outside of the Temple Bar region - nice to enjoy while you're awake, not if you're trying to sleep
Visiting neighbourhoods such as the Temple Bar area especially on Saturdays with the food and craft markets
Dublin is a medium-size city so I would suggest to walk between the Temple Bar district, city centre and e.g. Phoenix Park. The walk between the PP and the centre should be 30-40 min one way for a moderate walker.
The temple bar Is really good place for drinking and dancing
All the bars in the temple bar area have live music. Traditional and modern. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly bar staff too. Wonderful place for everyone
