Really full on and noisy . Too many tourists and I was kept awake until 4am. My first stay in Dublin was at Wren Urban Nest , heaps better location. Near all the free museums and hotel was beautiful. Around the corner from O'briens ( oldest pub in Dublin). Loved my stay there and also Hyatt Centric , The Liberties was great also.
Lovely spot - clean accommodations and exceptional staff … we left some medication behind - they were incredibly helpful and held it safely while we were away in the south. I would recommend taking a room in the front as the metal barrel collection and delivery happen in the back alley in the very very early hours of the morning
Stay out of the Temple Bar area. Its a drunken hole built to fleece tourists. The only place I would recommend is the fantastic Elephant and Castle. Only problem is you cannot book a table, but worth the wait. Get the bufallo wings. Best in Ireland.
Do not under any circumstances book the RiverHouse Hotel in Temple Bar on Eustace Street. It's a total dump. Don't let the pictures fool you. See the reviews on Booking. This place should be taken off Booking. It was a total ripoff at $212 a night. Also, be aware of drunken street people trying to hustle you.
Expect to pay around 7.70 Euros or more for a pint, so it is expensive but there is a good atmosphere. Do try other areas for food and drink at more affordable prices but with just as friendly service.
Very busy at night, you can get food more easily at lunchtime (along with live trad music) - we went to Oliver St John Gogarty's. The Palace pub on Fleet Street (the entrance to Temple Bar) is incredible, totally traditional inside, no food, no music, just a drinker's pub.
We booked the day before we took the train to Dublin and didn't expect this lovely hotel. From the outside the building looks old, but the rooms are very modern. Loved the space of the room. Was very clean. Lovely bathroom. Location was perfect. We walked to the start of the Hop-on-hop-off bus. Walked to the Temple Bar. Lovely little coffee shop on the corner opposite the church where we had breakfast. Lovely smoking section outside the front door. Cannot comment on the breakfast because we didn't have that included.
The location of the hostel is wonderful, only two streets away from temple bar district, so the commute is very easy. the Dublin Express bus drops you off right in front. The beds and bathrooms in the room (which is always a plus in a hostel) were clean and comfortable. There are cages under the bed to lock your things in but you need to bring your own lock for it or pay for a rental locker. Towels are also available for rent. Staff was friendly and security is good.
LOVED the restaurant below the hotel and the breakfast next door. The room was a nice size and very clean. Check-in went great and they were able to store our bags for us in the morning so we could walk around Dublin while we waited for our room. The location is within easy walking distance of Dublin Castle, Teeling, Guinness, Jameson and Temple Bar plus many other tourist destinations.
Zanzibar Locke is perfectly located across the river from the Temple Bar area. The hotel side of the river is more quiet but you can quickly get across the bridge if you enjoy a busier atmosphere then retreat back to the hotel. We stayed in on of the 6th floor rooms overlooking the river and Temple Bar area. I would highly recommend staying at Zanzibar Locke when traveling to Dublin.
location. location, location. . Staff were fabulous and the apartment was great for what we needed. Great value for money. Luggage storage at the office. Temple Bar was just around the corner, walking distance to a lot of attractions. Short walk to pick up point for a lot of tours. Definitely book again when I bring my husband to Dublin ...
The Wynn hotel staff was fantastic. They were welcoming and extremely helpful. The Irish breakfast was wonderful! It was nice to enjoy that during our first morning after arriving in Dublin. The hotel is in a great location, perfect for walking to the Temple Bar area and it was easy to find our train stop to Belfast the next day.
Great location in walking distance to Temple bar and a lot of attractions right in city center of Dublin. There is a parking garage within a block of the hotel which is also great. They give you a voucher for a discount on the parking as well. The hotel is clean and has an excellent breakfast as well as a free drink at check-in.
Located in center of Dublin, very close to Temple Bar and Grafton St, but just far enough away to be removed from the bustle. Very clean, with large rooms and friendly staff. The parking garage had direct access to the hotel. The hotel was what you would expect from this class of property.
Well appointed hotel/apartment with two bedrooms for our family of 4. The room had a full kitchen which was extremely helpful. Great location, near Temple bar area....right across the street from ChristChurch.
We were so close to The Temple Bar section of Dublin and enjoyed being able to pop out to the pub for dinner or some music. The hotel is a bit older, but still very nice and a value for the price.
walking the city, the pubs in the Temple Bar district, Guinness tour, and we took a bus tour to the Cliffs of Moher, fantastic day long tour with a fascinating guide
Book your hotel outside of the Temple Bar region - nice to enjoy while you're awake, not if you're trying to sleep
Visiting neighbourhoods such as the Temple Bar area especially on Saturdays with the food and craft markets
Dublin is a medium-size city so I would suggest to walk between the Temple Bar district, city centre and e.g. Phoenix Park. The walk between the PP and the centre should be 30-40 min one way for a moderate walker.
The temple bar Is really good place for drinking and dancing
All the bars in the temple bar area have live music. Traditional and modern. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly bar staff too. Wonderful place for everyone
