If your looking for place were you can buy cheap clothes and eat delicious street food, Khao San Road is definitely a place for you. Wait there's more stay until night if you like to party, this place will be a street party area.
Khao San was a blast!! Wat Pho, Wat Arun, and the Grand Palace were all amazing. I took a long boat to them, missed my stop so I took it till near the end of its route. I stopped, explored, found yummy food and then hit the 3 sites on the way back. It was a bit cooler on the river, which definitely helped. Bangkok rocks!!
Not worth to see, just crowded street. You can find similar streets with a lot of food stalls and bars many where in the world, but this street experience is exaggerating more in media that it is actually is
This is your average tourist street infested with sales men for everything from underwear to suits to ping pong shows. The bars on this street are an epic must see for the basic and first time traveler. Each bar playing their music louder than the next until the bars opposite each other have a full out "big speaker contest". The food in this area is sub-par and lacks any real hint of traditional flavors which have made thai food so well known. The location of this road is another nice feature. At one end you can pretty much walk straight to the grand palace and on the other end you can find you selection of chain places that only further distance you from having a real thai experience. This is worth to see once as it has an odd sense about it. Part creepy, part loud, part exciting, part shameful, part scary, and part overwhelming make this simple street a tourist destination.
It's street food and night life area. You could find cheap hotel or cheap hostel in this area and no worries about where to eat because the food shop is located almost every corner there. This place is also good for backpacker :) because you could walk to the grand palace or the interesting place nearby so easy especially you could take Bus S1 from Suvarnabhumi airport or Bus A2 from Don Mueang airport so easy.

Our stay at the Chillax Heritage Hotel exceeded our expectations and was our favorite hotel during our trip to Thailand. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was large and comfortable, and the breakfast was hot and delicious. We loved that they had a mix of Thai and European dishes. The location is a little out of the way of the "center" of Bangkok, but we really enjoyed the Khao San Road atmosphere and never had difficulty finding a taxi or Tuk Tuk to bring us back to the hotel.

Niras was a refreshing stop after some so so places. We had a private room which was clean, with AC, nice showers. They weren't always hot but who needs hot water in Bangkok!? They bring you new waters daily, laundry service, breakfast isn't huge but well done and real coffee. Great location, 15 minute walk to Khao San Road, next door to Thipsamai (maybe the most famous Pad Thai shop in Thailand), Grand Palace, Wat Arun, etc...

They give you two water bottles each day which was nice but it seems like most places if not all do that. The location was probably the best part about this hotel since it’s close enough to Khao San road and all of the temples but far enough that you don’t have any of the noise or craziness. Also the massage place right next door is amazing!! Best Thai massage I had in Thailand
8.9 Excellent 929 reviews
This was a beautiful, either newly built or renovated, hotel. Everything was very clean and in perfect condition. Staff were helpful when asked. It's close enough to attractions that you can easily walk to places like Khao San Road or get a taxi, but far enough that you can enjoy a perfectly quiet night's sleep.
8.4 Very Good 101 reviews
The location was the best part of the hostel. Right next to the a 7-eleven, night market with good food stalls, and 2 streets away from Khao San road. In addition, it's above a cafe, so the internet was great and it was convenient to go downstairs and work for a few hours since I'm working while traveling.
8.1 Very Good 188 reviews
The staff at the hostel were very helpful and nice. The common bathrooms were very clean and had basic toiletries. The rooms were well ventillated with massive windows. The place was tucked away inside a nice quiet locality, close to the fort and a 15 min walk to Khao San Road as well as the local ferry point.
7.5 Good 2,398 reviews
I like the location which was on Khao San road, it's good when you want to go out at night in this area. If you want to sleep before 3AM, don't go to this hotel!
8.7 Excellent 2,499 reviews
The location was decent, this seemed to be one of the few hotels amid a crowd of hostels near Khao San Road.

Good hotel near Khao San Road but without the noise
Everything is priced really economically. You can get more with the same amount of money as compared to malls or departmental stores. Shop along the streets and night markets like Siam Night Market, Chatuchak Weekend Market (opened in the morning till evening), Platinum Mall (closed at 8pm), MBK, Union Mall, Khaosan Road and many more. Explore!
