Mominoki Lodgeモミの木ロッジ offers a barbecue. Spacious and comfortable! Great attention to detail with many nice amenities. Loved the big dining table and comfy couches, outdoor sitting and grill were great, too. Ample bedrooms, with 5 toilets snd 2 showers. Loved having a kind of secret staff that did the dishes every night. Host was immensely helpful in making recommendations and providing advice.

Surrounded by lush mountains in Minakami, Tenjin Lodge is just a 5-minute walk from Tenjindaira Snow Resort Ropeway and JR Doai Station. Activities like rafting, hiking and canoeing can be enjoyed in the area. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property. Had a very comfortable stay in this truly stunning area. Especially thanks to the amazingly friendly and helpful owner of the establishment, who gave great advice and went the extra mile to make my stay very memorable. And very delicious! Very homely vibes as well. Even though it is a very remote place, it is still very good accessible by public transport (10-15 minutes walk from Doai station, which is an attraction on its own). Just make sure to check the timetable of the trains (they run only 5 or 6 times a day or so). But the ambiance, service and the environment made this one of my most memorable stays of my vacation. Honne!

Our accommodation was a semi-detached house in a group of two, with a living room, bathroom, and kitchen on the ground floor, and two bedrooms on the first floor, all with nice wooden floors. There is plenty of space inside, plus a lovely terrace and a small garden outside. The house is located on a hill with a view of the valley. The driveway to the upper houses is steep and includes a 180-degree turn. We stayed there for two nights and really enjoyed it. Check-in was contactless and easy. The kitchen is very well equipped. There is also a washing machine and dryer, which are perfect for longer stays. All in all, it’s a very nice accommodation surrounded by nature that invites you to stay longer.

Set among Nikko’s peaceful forests and mountains, Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side offers homely accommodation with free Wi-Fi just steps from hiking trails. It is 10 minutes from Tobu Nikko Station on the free shuttle (available 15:00-17:00). Nikko along with this hostel are one of those places where you can easily spend a week or more if you want to get away from the city. Location is great, a bit distanced from the village but closer to the forest. Great for those who like to walk. On top of that it is very comfortable, the hosts are splendid people, and the whole atmosphere of the house is cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

Fuji-Q Highland is 46 km from the lodge, while Lake Kawaguchi is 49 km from the property. Tokyo Haneda Airport is 85 km away. I was offered free coffee, though I didn't try any. Location was convenient although it was on a hill that might be difficult for some to walk up. Free parking!
