This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed, and we are experienced travellers! My husband and I came for a combination of safari game drives and to celebrate our anniversary. I carefully read the reviews beforehand - they were all positive - but I still didn’t expect the experience to be this excellent. The staff is outstanding - very friendly, helpful, and professional. Jeff assisted us at the restaurant throughout our stay and made us feel truly welcome with his personal touch. My husband even learned a lot about Maasai culture from him. Dennis and Dominic (I hope I’ve spelled their names correctly, apologies if not) went above and beyond during the safari drives. Both are highly experienced drivers - bravo! A special thank you also goes to the cook: the food was absolutely delicious. My husband has some dietary issues, and even when he wasn’t very hungry, he was kindly offered an alternative dish, which was excellent. On top of everything, we received a very unexpected surprise - a beautiful cake by the fireplace for our anniversary. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated it. We will definitely come back and will continue recommending (we’ve already started!) this camp to our friends and colleagues. We moved to Kenya just in December and this is a very nice welcoming! What truly sets Olaloi apart, however, is its location. Nestled in the heart of nature, the lodge offers a rare opportunity to connect with wildlife in its natural habitat – a breathtaking and humbling experience. Without question, this was the best accommodation we stayed at during our time in Kenya. We’re already looking forward to our return.

Mara River Camp is located on the North West boundary of the Maasai Mara National Reserve overlooking the Mara River. It features a swimming pool and garden. I have stayed at Mara River Camp before and I will continue to stay there every time I come to the Mara. The location is fabulous, so many animals right in the camp, and right on the River Mara. The food is amazing and the staff is amazing. The rooms are great too.
