During our trip on the Garden Route, we wanted to go sharkdiving, so we intended to pass by Hermanus. However, upon finding Benguela on Booking, we decided to pass by Gansbaai instead. What a great choice that was! We could book a sharkdiving experience via a recommendation of the hotel and had a wonderful stay too: (i) our room had a pool view and was spacious, (ii) the property lies in a very quiet neighbourhood, so although the pool lies next to a road, there is no noise as there is no traffic, (iii) the owner Jonathan is an excellent host that manages to find a good balance between his guests’ privacy and the social angle and (iv) the dinner he cooked for us and the rest of the guests was excellent - it was also a nice experience to meet some of the other guests and hear about their backgrounds and travels. We would definitely recommend!

The host was so lovely, she did everything to make us feel so very welcome, the private beach was amazing, the indoor braai and pool was the highlight, we had the place all to ourselves. The fully equipped shared kitchen was so convenient, had everything we needed.

Saxon Lodge a bed & breakfast in Gansbaai, which is known as the ideal location for shark cage diving and whale watching. Good position, staff really kind and helpful in everything, raccomanded!

Situated on the cliffs of De Kelders, a popular whale-watching spot in South Africa, Sea Star Cliff offers luxurious rooms overlooking the sea. The lodge features a terrace with outdoor pool. Breakfast has as good selection including fresh fruits, and surprisingly a breakfast special everyday which makes their breakfast incredible intriguing. Its extremely difficulty to single out the names to thank the staff because you all welcomed us with sincere hospitality and attentive service. We wholeheartedly loved our room with enormous space to relax and enjoy the sea breeze and view.

The beautiful manor house is located between the mountains and the olive groves. Every possible detail was taken care to make the guests to enjoy! The swimming pool was big enough with a wonderful view to the garden and beyond. Both the breakfast and the dinner were delicious prepared by the lovely ladies Amanda and Felicia. All this said, the best part was the incredibile hospitality of the hosts and the staf!

Featuring mountain views, Walkerbay Dunes Lodge in Stanford features accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a private beach area, a shared lounge and a terrace. Free WiFi is available. Loved everything. The room was exquisite. The ambiance and friendly service and quality food.

The mountain range, the vineyards, the well kept premises, the owners/family, dogs, cats and food are all wonderful. We had the Strelitzia house which has everything you may ever need. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen well equipped, but more importantly the place feels homey and historical. The veranda was our favourite spot day and night. Sharon, the host is very friendly and helpful. She thinks along with you and has great tips. She is available, but not intrusive. We love this place and are looking forward to returning one day.

We loved everything about this place. The location is stunning. Our tent and bathroom was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Communal spaces were great. We particularly liked the braai and dining spaces. Amazing small swimming dam with deck chairs and benches set up about the property to enjoy the magnificent views. Fabulous hosts.
