Mercure Samarinda has an outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, a garden and shared lounge in Samarinda. Breakfast was very good, many, many choices. Dinner was exceptional. We met the Manager, who sat and chatted with us for a while. Very nice fellow who also invited a member of the staff to join us and talk about our travel plans to her home town...

I appreciated the Mercure so much, it's a pleasure to highly recommend it above all other hotels in KK. I enjoyed the spacious room, comfortable bed, bonus toiletries etc. It's quiet yet perfectly located within walking distance to old town, the ferries to islands, and the biggest and best daily craft market/seafood -- on the docks. Breakfast was incredibly substantial, delicious and nutritional. It's professionally managed as one expected all fine hotels of days gone by. Front doormen politely and kindly helped. Kind professional concierge helped at all times, such as arranging taxis... All that and more at affordable rates, especially during its regular promotional sales.
