We wanted to visit the so-called Demon Slayer castle hotel. It’s out of the way so we rented a car rather than take transit. The drive itself was four hours from Tokyo. From the parking lot staff, to front desk, housekeeping and everyone there… the staff were all amazingly kind and patient. Not everyone speaks English, but there are a few. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very ryokan style (tatami) and the onsen was super clean. We had Kaiseki dinner and it was quite the experience. Food was delicious at dinner and the buffet lunch was traditionally Japanese. The stand out for us was the AIZU yogurt and AIZU maple syrup made from local chestnut trees. If anyone at Ookawaso reads this, please accept our thank you. You were all wonderful and we hope to visit from Canada again someday. Thank you for your patience with my eight year old son and our horrible Japanese.

藤龍館-TOURYUKAN-Yunokamionsen features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 6.7 km of Ouchi-juku and 27 km of Aizuwakamatsu Station. Hospitality at its best! Exceptional service by all staff! Above and beyond the call of duty, the staff went out of their way to provide impeccable service in all areas: arrival, reception, attention to detail, care and attention, assistance, warm service straight from the heart, and explaining everything with patience. Food served was of extraordinary standards and high quality. True hospitality is not about facilities , it’s about service straight from the heart. All other Ryokans should send their staff here for training and to learn true hospitality

Külalistemaja TAKITA-KAN asub Iwakis, 32 km kaugusel Aquamarine Fukushimast. Kohapeal on ühine puhkeruum, tasuta eraparkla ja aed. Külalistemajas on peretoad. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious. The food arrangement was a combination mostly of typical Japanese dishes with a touch of western cuisine. We stayed on New Year's Eve so we even got some special dishes on top! For drinks, there were also several home-made ones (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to choose from. The owner was extremely nice! He and his partner have a lot of international travel experience, especially in Latin America and Spain. They have very broad perspectives, so it's not a problem to stay as a foreigner even if you haven't been to Japan before. The inn of course has a natural hot spring bath, and we were able to book a time-slot to use privately. It is a remote location far away from the city, so we could enjoy some time away from the busy city and do some stargazing as well. They keep several cats which are very cute and friendly towards the guests.

Kutsurogijyuku Shintaki asub JR Aizuwakamatsu jaamast 15-minutilise bussisõidu kaugusel. Kohapeal on 4 kuumaveeallikat, kus on tasuta voolav allikavesi. Kohapeal on tasuta WiFi-ühendus ja restoran. Spacious space. The private onsen is very nice.

Harumiya Ryokan asub Fukushimas, Nihonmatsu jaamast 24 km ja Koriyama jaamast 41 km kaugusel. Majutusruumides on istumisnurk. Beautiful location next to a mountain stream. Out of the way. Well-appointed facility with and friendly, helpful staff.

Located in Koriyama, 18 km from Koriyama Station, Moritaya features accommodation with a hot spring bath and a public bath. Everything was absolutely amazing!!!!

Located in Ashinomaki Onsen, 渓谷美の宿川音 provides some air-conditioned rooms with private open-air hot spring bath. The view from my room was breath taking. The room wax clean and the futon very comfortable. The buffet dinner and breakfast were excellent. Onsen as well very nice as I used the small one and I was alone!

Hotell Route Inn Grand Fukushima Ekimae Higashiguchi asub Fukushimas, Nihonmatsu jaamast 27 km ja Koriyama jaamast 49 km kaugusel. Location, women only baths and restaurant.

Guesthouse & Kitchen Hace asub Iwakis, 11 km kaugusel Aquamarine Fukushimast. Kahetärniline majutusasutus on ühise puhkeruumi, restorani ja baariga. Breakfast was individually organised and wrapped that made the whole experience a lot more unique. The whole building was an ex taxi noffice in traditional style. Had a cute little table for eating food. Don't expect spacious facilities, but if you are after traditional Japanese experience with home atmosphere, this Guesthouse is for you.
