El Okyakuya, construido en 1722, está situado en el distrito histórico del distrito de Kurokawa Onsen. One of the best experience in a ryokan of my life. The stay is not expensive at all if we consider all the services they provide. If you are planning to stay a night in kurokawa onsen i would really recommend this ryokan, authentic and traditional experience. The staff is very kind and always ready to help, they even took me to the bus station the day after! The dinner and breakfast experience are a must! Staff will explain every dish in details and will guide you in a real culinary experience with fresh local flavour! Also amazing indoor and outdoor onsen!

Hanare no Yado Hanagokoro está en Minamioguni, a 40 km de Monte Aso y a 49 km de Lago Kinrinko. Ofrece alojamiento con restaurante y parking privado gratis. So homey and warm. Friendly and helpful staff. Super friendly for pet! Comfy bed and relaxing onsen. Food was really delicious!

Located in the centre of Kurokawa Onsen, Oyado Noshiyu offers outdoor and indoor hot-spring baths, Japanese-style accommodations and a traditional teahouse. Wow, what an excellent place. It felt very special as soon as we walked in to the gates. The staff, room, onsen, and restaurant were all wonderful. We particularly liked the combination of public and private onsen and also the great bath that we had in the room. Despite our lack of Japanese we were made to feel very welcome and everything was well explained to us.

El Hotel Yumeshizuku está situado en Minami Aso, en la región de Kumamoto, a 10 km de Naka-dake, y cuenta con baño termal y sauna. The private onsen was very nice. Hotel had good facilities like foot spa with a great view of Mt Aso. Dinner and breakfast was great and staff were friendly and able to speak english.

I stayed one night at Fumoto Ryokan (Kurokawa Onsen) and was genuinely very satisfied. The ryokan is traditional and understated—wood, stone, soft lighting—nothing flashy, but immediately calming. There are many baths, indoor and outdoor, and you never feel rushed; you can soak as much as you like. A small wooden bridge runs through the property, and in the evening, when the lights come on, the atmosphere is quietly beautiful. What really exceeded my expectations was the dinner. I didn’t expect much, but it turned out to be excellent—on par with high-level kaiseki. The ingredients were generous and high quality: a full plate of wagyu, fresh horse sashimi, and dishes that were clean, precise, and well-balanced. In Kyoto, a dinner like this for two would easily cost around ¥150,000. At night, sleeping on tatami with the sound of the river outside was incredibly comfortable. Service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. One practical note: most people arrive via the Kyushu Odan Bus, which only runs three times a day, so tickets must be booked in advance. The ryokan can arrange pickup from Kurokawa Onsen. In the low season, it’s around ¥20,000+ per night for two, including dinner. I found it very good value—and I’d happily stay again.
