Dormy Inn Aomori Natural Hot Spring is set in Aomori, 6 km from Sannai-Maruyama site and 43 km from Tsuta Hot Spring. With a restaurant, the 3-star hotel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. Onsen and massage chair were unable to miss! On top of that, there are free half-size ramen and ice-cream at night. Breakfast is the best. My husband really liked to have Nuttö together with half-boiled eggs. I loved sashimi bowl with buffet scallops and maguro. Fried scallop and shrimp together with mustard and the clam miso soup were very amazing. One more thing was the apple juice made by famous apple from Aomori.

Historical Ryokan SENYUKAN features a hot spring bath and free private parking, and is within 42 km of Lake Towada and 43 km of Sannai-Maruyama site. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly! They helped me securely store my bike and when I first got on the room they brought me a thermos with boiled water so I could have some tea immediately. The onsen itself was small but was pretty empty whenever I went, with good opening hours to suit all lifestyles.

Featuring an open-air bath, Kameya Hotel is located in the Yunohama Onsen district of Tsuruoka, only 3.5 km from Kamo Aquarium. This ryokan provides free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. Amazing history and gardens. Rooms were enormous, with open views of the beach and with a cedar bathtub fed by hot springs in the room.

Situated in Tendo in the Yamagata region, Ichiraku tendo spa & brewery features accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot spring bath. What a cool place! There were so many opportunities to taste the beer that was brewed locally on-site. From the drinks bar at check-in to the tasting room open all day to the all-you-can-drink plan at dinner, the hotel was really quite generous with their liquid offerings. Even non-drinkers are accommodated with plenty of alcohol-free options. We also liked that they had multiple private baths on site. The main onsen were also quite nice. The food was fantastic and the beef served at dinner was some of the best I've had.

Yuze Hotel has mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kazuno, 38 km from Appi Kogen Ski Resort. This 4-star ryokan offers a lift and luggage storage space. This place! I cannot describe how amazing the room with private onsen is. Super spacious and comfortable, with a stunning view to the mountains. Breakfast and dinner were delicious (buffet style), enough vegetarian options. There's a free drink bar available for the afternoon/evening hours as well. I didn't use the public bath because they don't allow visible tattoo's though.

Situated in Aizuwakamatsu, 3.8 km from Mount Iimori, Kutsurogijyuku Shintaki provides accommodation with a hot spring bath, a public bath and an open-air bath. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Courteous staff and public bath was good.

Tokinenoyado Yunushi Ichijoh is situated in the Kamasaki Onsen district in Shiroishi, a 15-minute drive from Shiroishi Station and Shiroishi-Zao Station. It was absolutely exceptional, from the food, to the staff, to the service and hot springs, everything was simply immaculate. You cannot get any better than this.

Situated in Senboku, 7.9 km from Nyuto Hot Spring, 田沢湖水沢温泉郷セルリアンリゾートAoni offers accommodation with ski-to-door access, free private parking and an open-air bath. Everything about the stay and accomodation is great! Staff were well trained, polite and helpful. Rooms were clean and they provide free shuttle service to the ski resort. There is even a facilities for kids playroom and table tennis for free. Breakfast and dinner provided were of great quality and delicious. Definitely recommended for stay here!
