I liked literally everything. The staff was extra polite, optional kaiseki and breakfast were exceptional meals, and I'd really recommend going for it. View was excellent, as were amenities like craft beers in the suite, and different kinds of sweets. And the best part is bath, or baths, to be exact. Taking the hot spring bath in open air in the breezy night is kind of a lifechanging experience

Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. We spent Christmas Day here. Very traditional, clean and welcoming. The photos on Booking.com did not do this place justice. Staff were helpful, and offered advice about the local market. How to use the Onsen and etiquette about shoes/slippers and provided traditional wear whilst staying at the Ryoken everyone wore them, regardless of nationality, which made the evening meal very special. The 13 course dinner was really a whole experience that we won’t forget. We opted for the Japanese breakfast, again beautifully presented with a lot of food. All food was produced locally which was great too. Lots of art and historical pieces to browse and staff happy to talk you through. Rooms were comfortable clean and traditional. We had room 311 which was a family room with a bedroom and matted area where futons were laid out for additional guests. The room was large enough for us to accommodate 6 adults for after dinner drinks. Was really close to the train and bus station and we caught the ski shuttle bus and went skiing for the day. Very much one of the best parts of our stay.

Takayama jaamast vaid 2-minutilise jalutuskäigu kaugusel paiknev Oyado Koto No Yume pakub jaapanipärase stiili ja värvikate elementidega tube. The room was great, quite a typical ryokan room but it also had a bath in the room which is not something you find everywhere. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the station which was important because we had quite a bit of luggage, and one of the main reasons I picked it. It was also a convenient walk to the rest of the town and the morning market. The staff were friendly and helped us with the evening meals around at nearby restaurants. We also enjoyed the hotel breakfast on our last day which for us was a local selection that includes their famous hida beef. It was quite a big breakfast and very delicious.

Is like the Onsen amusement park! The place is incredible! So many services!! Everything is just amazing; the town, the hotel, the room, the baths… they even allow you to check the bath of another hotel, in case you did not have enough! I have been in many Ryokan and this was TOP!

Amazing coffee with a beautiful tray with assorted jams and pastries with egg and sausage We shared a room for three and still felt very comfortable Wish we could stay longer

Ito Villa-TOKI asub Itos, 30 km kaugusel Shuzen-ji templist. Kohapeal on aed, tasuta eraparkla, terrass ja restoran. Daruma mägi on 44 km ja Shuzenji Niji 32 km kaugusel. The gentleman in charge of the kitchen was super nice and the food was delicious!
