We stayed 4 nights: Sept 25 - Sept 29. Clean. Quiet. Great View. We arrived in our rental car vehicle. Elsbeth welcomed us, explained all apartment amenities. Much attention to detail. Instructions written in several languages: how to operate appliances, binders with local information (tourism and history). Large living and dining room, fully equipped Kitchen, office room & desk. Large closet cabinets. Elsbeth stocks breakfast: milk, coffee, chocolate, Ovomaltine, sugar, different kinds of bread, butter, homemade jam, honey, cheese, meat platter, different kinds of muesli, boiled eggs and fruit yogurt. We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Black Rock to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It was top notch from the get go and didn’t disappoint in anyway. Otto the owner certainly pays attention to detail. He met us promptly at the accommodation with a bottle of wine, fully stocked fridge and detailed explanation of how to operate appliances, sauna, etc. Everything was spotless and quality built, which made for a very comfortable stay. In addition, the location is spectacular. Nestled in a mountainside close to Zermatt and Montreux it makes for a perfect place to stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city or launching pad for a day trip to the Matterhorn. Upon checkout Otto surprised my husband with a parting gift, an assortment of Swiss beer knowing he was a beer connoisseur. If your travels takes you this way you must stay here!

Our stay here was exceptional. The room was very clean with large beds and an extremely clean shared bathroom. The location was great... the bus stop is right in front of the house. The bus stop is very well connected to major train stations like Visp, Stalden and Zermatt. The check in process was super smooth.. the owners made sure we had all the details before we reached. Definitely recommend!

This apartment has everything a family would need for a short or long stay. Two well furnished bedrooms and a kitchen that had everything you need. The host/hostess were absolutely delightful. There was a welcome basket with chocolates (we stayed over Easter) and wine. Incredible views of the mountains. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Thank you to the owner of the hotel, who was so lovely and accomodating for everything. We dined for both dinner and breakfast and both were great and very tasty. The staff were very helpful. The views are incredible. We sat out on the terrace having drinks until the sun started to set. The mountain views are amazing. You are very high up (around 1500m) in a very sweet Swiss mountain town. You have to see it! Its very authentic and we loved that. Everything that you needed in the rooms.
