Staff very friendly and always helpful. Beautiful grounds. A paradise. Restaurant was quite good and breakfast buffet was excellent. A wonderful experience.

Beautiful surroundings, friendly staff and delicious food!

The breakfast was adequate in a pleasant open, convenient location. The staff in the reception office were especially friendly and helpful. The guides for our hikes were very knowledgeable and responsive to participants. They showed and briefly described important research being done there. The area is incredibly beautiful and full of magnificent wildlife. I appreciated the emphasis on sustainability.

We had an amazing stay at this resort, truly a hidden paradise. Within 30 minutes of checking in, we saw so many different types of birds. We wished we could have stayed longer. The property is beautiful, with fresh produce grown on-site, and the staff are all so helpful and kind. Sylvia was especially friendly during our horse riding experience around the stunning grounds. Overall, an unforgettable and peaceful getaway . Could not recommend it more!

We are a family of five and stayed here for two nights on our way to Tortuguero. We couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. The location is perfect, right on the Saripiquí River, and the house feels brand new with chic design and top-quality materials. It feels like a boutique hotel. The terrace view is stunning, the kitchen fully equipped, and the shower excellent with hot water and a rainfall shower. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the barbecue area. Everything is thoughtfully designed and well maintained.

Perfect villa in the mountains. Very peaceful, modern design, comfortable beds, new bathroom and even some board games to pass the time with the kids. Host was very responsive and helpful with recommendations in the area. Great stay!

GREAT Location near the tropical forest preserves and the Sarapiqui River, right near the Best Chocolate Farm, where we also took a night hike, and just down the road from Aventuras del Sarapiqui (excellent whitewater rafting). It's a private house off the main road and I was worried about dogs barking as mentioned in some other reviews, but it was not a problem at all. It's a split level with two separate sleeping spaces, king bed in upstairs room and queen bed in the downstairs room, each having their own bathroom with showers. The main kitchen/dining area was great for preparing easy meals: rice and beans for dinners and fried egg sandwiches for breakfast. And best of all is our host, Maria who has been SO accommodating and friendly. We just message each other through WhatsApp (I use Google Translate to convert from her Spanish to my English). It's not a luxury hotel but instead a very artistically decorated two bedroom apartment and I highly recommend.

Great family owned spot. We enjoyed chatting with the son of the owners who is a football (soccer) star goalie. Rooms are basic and comfortable/clean. This isn’t luxury but amazing value. Nice restaurant and tours right accross the street. Make sure you have the omelette at Cartera just 1 mile up the road. The “lounge” area is perfect for a cold beer and a bag of chips or take out fried chicken.

Our second eco stay in Costa Rica and so far the best. The location is amazing with the soothing rush of the river nearby which is also awesome for a swim on hot days. It's just far enough from the madding crowds to be peaceful and quiet, yet close enough to local sodas and markets and everything else. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful (Fernanda deserves a special mention) . The breakfast buffet is superb with local delicacies like spiced (seeds and real chillies) chorizo, rice and beans as well as fare for the less adventurous , with fresh juice, coffee etc. The one dinner we had was also great and an absolute bargain. The rooms/bathrooms were clean and comfortable. There are common areas with coffee/tea/biscuits always available and a kitchen with fridge if you want to cook your own. To top it all off you can wander off into the surrounding reasonably marked trails to see howler monkeys, toucans, etc.

Everything, this was a treat and I could have stayed there for ever. The breakfast included was so good with many choices. This is great for person that want to be in nature.

it was over the top clean, nice, safe and quiet country house. I love animals so roosters were fun to see and hear. really smart kitchen everything smelled clean and looked spotless.
