Birkende was a wonderful place to stay while I was in Denmark for a conference! Conny was so welcoming and hospitable. When my travel plans got upended and I came in a day late, tired, jet-lagged, and hungry, she met me on the property and prepared a fabulous lunch of coffee, juice, meats, cheeses, fruits, and breads for me (because I had missed breakfast). This thoughtful touch to ensure the comfort of her guest was so sincerely appreciated! The room was cozy and comfortable, with everything I needed during my stay. The breakfasts were delicious and prepared early, so I could eat before flitting off for full days at my conference. And the property is peaceful and simply stunning (including their gorgeous grapevines and koi pond). It is well situated for a short drive through the beautiful countryside to both Kerteminde and Odense. I couldn't have asked for anything more!

We both felt at home…. When can we move in please? Hehe ;-) The house has a lovely homely feel, a home with character and charm. The hosts were so amazing, surprising us with wine and bubbles on arrival for our 3 year anniversary. We made a beautiful fire also and drank champagne in front of it. A true gem. Exceptionally friendly host! We felt incredibly welcome from the very start. Our host was not only warm and kind, but also shared great tips about places to visit and eat — which really made a difference during our stay. Peaceful, charming, and truly unique The place has so much character and a calm, relaxed atmosphere. We absolutely loved the unique setting — it's not something you come across often. Everything thoughtfully provided Both in the tent and the extra rooms, everything was arranged with great care, down to the smallest detail. It was clear that a lot of love and attention had gone into it. Perfect for kids There was plenty to explore in the garden, and our 7-year-old had an amazing time. It's a place where both adults and children can fully enjoy themselves. We honestly wished we could have stayed longer — and we’ll definitely be back!

Lovely location, remote and peaceful, even though the site itself was apparently quite busy when we stayed. The cottage was comfortable, practical, spacious and homely, very clean. The hosts were warm and accommodating. It was extremely pleasant to stroll around the the nearby village in the gloaming, admiring all the regional and period country cottages. For any history fans there's a very pleasant surprise on the doorstep.
