The host was extremely friendly, gave great food and travel recommendations and even left a bottle of wine for us! Extremely uncomplicated (parking right outside), clean and quiet (cleaned every day and located at the end of a residential street), very nice room, comfortable beds, free coffee and fridge available. Definitely recommend, would come back anytime!

Everything was very convenient. The host promptly responded to our phone call, met us to hand over the keys, gave us a tour of the property, and explained everything thoroughly. After that, our privacy was fully respected. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the bathroom was generously sized. The air conditioning system was impeccable! If you wanted to turn the apartment into a cool, relaxing, dim retreat after a hot and sunny day in the city, this was the perfect place to do it. :) The location was a major plus, as it was close to everything we needed, all within a 1 to 8-minute walk. There was even a free parking lot just a minute away on foot! An amazing pizza place in the same building (on the outside corner) made our evenings, along with a very cozy coffee bar just 10 meters away!

Il Rifugio del Monaco is such a great place to stay! Unfortunately we only had one night here, since we had to head into Slovenia the next day, but if anyone needs more time in the area, I'd definitely recommend this place. Germana is a wonderful host who will happily share great local tips or chat with you over morning coffee, it was a real pleasure having such a lovely conversation with her. The room was great and the bed so comfortable that we slept like babies. The bathroom was spacious too. There are only two rooms available (one on the first floor, one on the second), which gives the whole place a lovely, intimate feel, nothing like a big hotel. You also get a beautiful courtyard where you can sit with your coffee, and on-site parking, which was a huge help since we were traveling by car. Don't be put off that it's a bit on the edge of town, that's actually part of its charm. You get peace, quiet, and a lovely view, and the center is still just a 15-20 minute walk away. Breakfast had so many options we didn't know what to choose! For us, this place was a true hidden gem.

We decided to do a spontaneus trip to Italy during the autumn holidays and by "accident" stumbled across this accomodation and we are so glad we did. It is right in the center of city with the free parking near-by. The lady and the reception was really helpful - without even asking, she assumed that we were hungry after a long trip and gave us great recommendations for restaurants (we wanted to eat some domestic cuisine but there are other options for different tastes as well). We had a great coasy room which was quite bigger than we expected. Everything was furnished simple but with quality wooden furniture. We especially appreciated the wooden floor and central heating which can be quite rare in Italy but it's most welcomed in colder months. We also liked the breakfast - it's not self-service, you order it, but they are more than willing to bring you whatever you desire and it's done with great taste and elegancy that we often miss nowadays in hotels and order accomodations. We'd say the staff alone is worth your stay here!
