The Lo Sciatore hotel and gardens look lovely. This family-run hotel is situated on the edge of Lago Ampollino and is surrounded by beautiful woods. We were given a very spacious corner room with three windows overlooking gardens and trees. The personnel were very gentle and helpful. Antonio was particularly accomodating and nice. He helped us with our difficulties and even very kindly waited for us until we were back in the hotel late one night. He also did a very early packed lunch for us on the last day since we couldn't stay for breakfast. Silvia was also exceptional and kind. Like Antonio she made me and my wife feel part of the family. She offered us very good breakfasts and dinners in the most beautiful corners of the dining hall overlooking lovely views. We also had interesting conversations about so many subjects. We loved our stay at Lo Sciatore hotel and look forward to go back one day.

The Villa was beautiful. It was On the top of the mountain, overlooking the mountains and town below. It was immaculate, with great amenities.

It is like a dream to stay there. Family Fauci has a big passion maintaining the castle at its best. Not to be missed is a visit to the Cavalcanti's chapel inside the castle.

The family that owns and runs the hotel is lovely and contributed to our positive experience. The location of the hotel is across the road from Lake Ampollino so there is easy access to a wonderful walking path along the shoreline. Incredibly beautiful setting! We were there for only one night toward the end of our travels in Calabria and it was a perfect stop.

Villa Maria is an exceptional resort in a remote area. The owner, Pasquale, has crafted an amazing resort after years of work. If you're in the Belvedere-Spinello area, it's a must stay. They have a georgeous, renovated villa with that quintessential, Italian country village charm and understated elegance. The resort has an exeptional restaurant, not to be missed. We had the best Bistecca Fiorentina we've ever had, including years ago in Firenze. They have a wonderful wine list as well. They have a lovely pool and breakfast was included. Francesco, it the manger of the restaurant and also performs many other duties. He welcomed us, checked us in, was extremely acccomodating and kind. He runs a tight ship. This was a dining experience under the stars with linen table cloths and twinkle lights, accompanied by wonderful music. The view over the valley floor is exeptional. You will be in heaven. Maria , the resort's namesake was wonderful We made friends which we will value forever. When we return to Calabria will will definitely stay there again for an extended stay. La Dolce Vita!
