We loved our stay here! The view over the surrounding area is so lovely, with mountains and the lake in the distance, and the location is very peaceful. Dario and Cinzia were splendid hosts, and gave us excellent recommendations for local restaurants. The breakfast was the best we had in our travels, with amazing local food. The hosts were so kind and accommodating even though we arrived earlier than we had expected. We had a car and were able to explore the area easily; Orta San Giulio was just a few minutes drive.

Looks and feels brand new. Quality finishes and well equipped for entertaining or just a refreshing Campari soda admiring the panoramic view from the terrace, before venturing out for dinner by the lake. Given how busy the lakes are in August it was lovely to have some privacy, the elevation was also a little cooler! Easy walk into town, but not for the infirm or unfit! Giorgio can assist with e-bike hire which we strongly recommend, car parking is stressful at this time of year! Alberto and family are wonderful ‘neighbours’ joyful,but mindful of your privacy.

I stayed at the Bocciolo on a last minute booking, and was thrilled I did. First, the staff is incredibly helpful and gave clear instructions on how to walk around to see the town. Second, the location is incredible. Not only close to the attractions in town (within a 20-25 minute walk), but right across from the lake as well. With my balcony room, I sat outside all evening under the umbrella in the rain sipping wine. It was fabulous. Third the breakfast - even with COVID protocols - was delicious and there were plenty of gluten free options. The mattress was better than most in Italy, and the WiFi was strong enough I could do the video call required to take my return to the States COVID test without any trouble. Overall, I loved it.
