Very welcoming, beautiful and calm place

The hotel is on a surprisingly quiet main road, very close to the motorway exit and easy to find. There are 3 restaurants right across the street and another a little further down the road. The hotel itself is quiet, clean and well run. Extensive breakfast buffet with a very varied selection. We were drawn to this hotel by the mention of cats in numerous reviews, and enjoyed their company by the pool and in the lounge area.

'Agriturismo' in italy is a specific category of tourist accommodations: the idea is that a farm/agricultural company provides accommodation to travellers that are eager to get a full immersion in the day to day life of a farm. Most of the time hotels in rural areas or bed and breakfats are tagged as 'Agriturismo' even if there are not linked to any active farm and the added value of being n the very life of a farm is lost. This is not the case of Le Colombare, which is a rice farm still active and this allows travellers to have a full immersion in the day to day life of a traditional rice farming company. The work the farm is doing to preserve traditional production farming techniques is impressive and talking of a new wave of producers that are opposed to intensive scale production and try to maintain and value the local ecosystem with a sustainable production that values local resources, know how and techniques. The staff at the reception is super helpful and organise informative visits of the farm where visitors can get to know the different production phases of rice farming. A booklet in the room has maps with routes and walking tours to discover the rural area around the farm. The company shop at the reception has a display of products from the farm and from surrounding farms for sale. The whole grain vialone nano rice is a must try! The apartments are in a beautiful rural house which has undergone recent renovations. The units have plenty of natural lights, are well furnished and the kitchen has crockery and is well equipped for dining in. The coffee machine is a very nice extra! The swimming pool is in a beautiful garden surrounded by secular trees and flowers: just a very Italian setting! the staff is really helpful and welcoming. Super flexible check in. A stone throw from Verona and Garda Lake allowing a deep dive in less touristic countryside corners. We will definitely be back if we are in the area.

Very nice hosts, the structure exceeded our expectations. I would definitely recommend it if you want a quiet and clean place. One of the best accommodation we had in Italy!
