Although we did not meet, the main positive about the place is the host… super fast responses, full of really kind attentions, before, during and after our stay. It’s so nice to be dealing with someone so thoughtful 😍 The place is a flat with a bloke of flat so you’re basically « leaving » like a local and definitely have a taste of it. The place is walking distance from the city centre (around the train station) and not far from the sandbath. Beds were comfortable and you could really fit a whole family in or 2 couples :-) Thanks you so so much… it was a pleasure.

We had an excellent stay. We arrived in Ibusuki around midday, and the host kindly offered to pick us up at the local train station. Within minutes, we reached his lovely traditional wooden house. The place was simple yet elegant, very clean, and thoughtfully organized. Communication was smooth - for anything more complex, we used Google Translate, which the host handled with ease. When we asked about a place to rent bicycles, he surprised us by generously lending us two of his own bikes, refusing any payment. Thanks to his kindness, we were on our way to the southern tip of Kyushu just 15 minutes after checking in. Overall, it was a very cozy, welcoming, and memorable stay. Highly recommended!

Our stay here definitely exceeded expectations, with this ryokan rating as our best stay in Kyushu over the 10 days we visited. Staff were very helpful on check in and departure. Parking worked nicely. Dinner was outstanding and the staff who helped explain the kaiseki meal to us were fantastic. Our room had views looking out to sea, which was special. The onsen was nice too. All in all a great stay!

My wife and I had a wonderful Japanese ryokan experience at Syusuien. The service provided by the ryokan was top-notch, and we enjoyed genuine and unique traditional Japanese hospitality. We stayed for two nights, with breakfast and dinner included. Every dining experience was unique, featuring fine dining-quality dishes made with local Kagoshima seasonal ingredients. The room we stayed in offered beautiful ocean views, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing and tranquil moment at Ibusuki.

Very close to the Sand bath. The host picked us up from the railway Station and also at the end of our stay, we got a lift back to the station. He offered for free for each of us a bicycle. As we got a complete house, we could get an imagine, how Japenese live. 100% satisfaction!
