Excellent Portuguese food - the dinner in the property restaurant was delicious and the wine was also excellent. Room was very quite and with an excellent outdoor space. Staff were the best that we found during our trip to Portugal.

We only stayed one night along route. But would have stayed longer. Beautiful hosts, rooms, scenery and food. Nothing not to love. Yoga class & home made wine. Perfection 👌

This is probably the best positioned hotel in all of Douro valley as you are down by the river. It's beautiful and peaceful and you're surrounded by nature. The hotel staff is super helpful and professional. The hotel offers activities like kayaking and stand up paddling. We stayed in the villa which had incredible views and slept so well. I'm recommending this hotel to all of my friends!

The pool, and the view from it were gorgeous. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very well kept and aircon is great! With some notice, the owners will cook delicious evening meals for you but otherwise you will need to drive to the nearest restaurants. Naco is probably the best local place to eat out (also does nice takeaway pizzas) but Ideal also does delicious grilled chicken and is very reasonably priced. You will need to learn some Portuguese though (or use Google Translate!) as they don’t speak any English. Vegetarian options are limited. There is a Spar supermarket in the nearest town and a residents’ fridge in the house, near the pool so you can stock up on cold drinks and snacks.

Amazing place to stay and relax. Staff were very friendly and available for questions and help. They helped up book a tour at the Caves Raposeira ~5 min drive away, a must-see. The restaurant was also great for breakfast and dinner.

Casa da Real Companhia is now my go-to retreat in Lamego! From the moment I arrived, the hosts made me feel like an old friend rather than a guest. My room was spotless, beautifully fresh, and irresistibly comfortable—just what you hope for after a day exploring the Douro Valley. Waking up to sweeping views over the property and the surrounding hills was pure magic, and the calm, quiet atmosphere meant I slept like a dream each night. A special highlight was strolling through the lush cherry trees at dawn, picking sun-warmed cherries to enjoy with breakfast—an unforgettable, charming touch you won’t find elsewhere. If you value genuine hospitality, immaculate rooms, tranquil scenery, and those little moments that make a stay memorable, Casa da Real Companhia is unbeatable. I can’t recommend it highly enough and have firmly established it as my place to stay whenever I’m in Lamego. Thanks so much for having me—already counting the days until my next visit!

Greate location, 5 minutes from the main sightseeings. Very clean facilities. There is a shared bathroom that is very clean and updated. The bedrooms are plain but clean and cozy. A/C is located in the perfect place of the room and doesn't blow on you directly. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The kitchen is small for four people but it has everything that you need to cook breakfast. The host is very responsive. Mrs. Fatima is a lovely lady. A welcome drink was very appreciated after the long drive.

Superb view, many fruit trees and some tomato plants, herbs etc to collect fresh food from. Fresh bread every morning ( half large cob) Beautiful bathroom, lovely lounge and bedroom.

We were absolutely delighted with our stay! The house is spacious, comfortable, and had everything that was promised. The beds are very comfortable, and it was a lovely surprise to find an extra bed already set up for our daughter. The hosts were incredibly attentive — they left us a generous selection of food and drinks, and even a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate Easter. To top it all off, the view from the house is simply stunning, both by day and by night. A thoughtful touch and an experience that made our stay truly special. Highly recommended!

The house is a beautiful stone cottage. The views from the terrace and all the outward facing windows were stunning. It was lovely to sit on the terrace in the morning and listen to the bird song. The cottage was well equipped. Maria Helena and Raquel were both helpful and friendly.

Sérgio was lovely, what an incredible host! He sorted taxis for us to and from Ermida station, shared his homemade port, and made sure to check in with us on a regular (but not over the top) basis. This was an incredible break in a beautiful part of the world. Great value for money for our 4 nights! Others have noted the bed is on the shorter side, fine for me at 179cm, but only just. And no AC, but there is a fan. It's a no frills place in a lovely town, as long as you expect that you'll have a great time. . We'll stay again if we're ever back in the region!

The house was very nice and the pool area was very beautiful with great views of the valley and it was well located for wine tasting trips also close to grocery stores
