wow!!! it was so beautiful the Vila was spacious and very well designed. if you are looking for a quiet getaway on the mountain, you found a super comfortable stay. the host thought about everything to the smallest detail. the breakfast was very rich and yummy. they even made a special gluten-free for my little girl with celiac. I was so amazed by the service and consideration. I would definitely go back again.

Location was beautiful if a bit isolated. A car is a definite plus if you want to make traveling in the area easy. Food was not included in the house rental but hosts did accommodate us the first night and even gave us some breakfast items. House itself was very comfortable for the three of us and views cannot be beat. Really enjoyed spending the evening on the main inn patio chatting with other guests (ones who were staying at the B & B part of the inn). Did not meet Mario as he was away during our stay but his daughter Caterina, her husband Pedro and their friend Kevin were incredible. Again if you are looking for a few days away from noise, this place cannot be beat. You will be surrounded by nature, nice people, good wine and incredible views. Just be prepared to drive a bit if you want to go to a town (nearest one about 15 minutes away). But you do have everything you will need right there including a great spot to swim in the river right down the hill from the inn (very short walk)

The place is a thirteenth century farm house, renovated, super charming, and located in a very quiet small village. The owners are awesome and hospitable. They welcomed us with a beautiful bottle of Porto and cookies on a tray with starched linen. Our room was neat, clean, spacious, and we had a view of the mountains. Breakfast was delicious: it included a wide variety of foods such as breads, yogurt, cut-up fruit, ham, and cheese all served on elegant linen and dishes. They shared fresh cherries, strawberries, and herbs from their garden with us. Adelina, her niece, and sister-in-law went out of their way to make us feel at home, and to accommodate our dietary constraints (no lactose). We look forward to coming back to this piece of paradise in the near future.

Beautiful and unique stay in a renovated building, with a lot of charm yet providing all the modern comforts, based in the middle of the beautiful an untouched rural northern interior of Portugal - a little piece of heaven. Small Bed and Breakfast with a few rooms each named and decorated with places and people associated with the area, for example Douro or Gravuras rupestres. Rooms and bathrooms are elegant, clean and comforatble and with a stunning view of the hills, vineyards and almond and olive trees, with just the sound of birds, trees and the cool breeze. Very relaxing. Our hosts were very welcoming and friendly, gave us good advice and we felt like we were staying with long last friends or family. Now for the best bit.... the breakfasts! Wow! Every morning, we stayed for 4 nights, there was a theme, the whole dining/ living area was decorated accordingly, for example, one day with fresh roses and books, and then the table was filled with fresh local fruit, bread, pastries, coffee, juice, all fresh and delicious. All the effort makes one feel very special and spoilt. There was vegan options available, plant based milks and yogurts, cheeses and even freshly made vegan pancakes and baked cakes! Obrigada Libert e familia! There is a lot to do and see in the surrounding areas as long as you have a car or you can just stay in with a good book by the beautiful pool and enjoy the calmness, fresh air and good vibes that this B & B has to offer. Cannot wait to return one day soon, but this time spend more time at the B&B.

Bairro do Casal is a little out of the way, but a great option for us on a cycling trip and our second time of visiting. The house is beautifully done with a keen eye on style and environmental friendliness. Excellent breakfast and welcome drink/cake. Anabela herself is a perfect and understanding host (sorry for the ness up with payment!)

Clean, all facilities I expected with nothing lacking. If you want quiet location and with some of Portugal's most dramatic scenery all around you then this makes a great base at which to stay.
