AustriaThe Bhubesi camp is a roughly 25 to 30 minutes drive from the main camp at Hlane National park, it is really remote and only for those who plan to cook for themselves. There is electricity, unlike the main camp! Driving around after sunset is not allowed, so you`re by yourself pretty much out there in the buch. There are 5 or 6 stone houses next to each other, still with lots of privace, a nice garden with fireplace. Inside, there are two rooms, each having an own bathroom with shower AND bathtube, all in good condition, more like in a very good mountain cabin. The kitchen also features everything you might need.
For us, Hlane national park was the perfect place before driving to Kruger National park. Hlane might not offer that many animals and is (of course) quite small, but the waterhole was busy all the time, Rhinos, Giraffe, hooved animals, warthogs could be spotted almost any time of the day. There was an option for a guided safari, where you can also spot lions and elephants quite easily, we drove around on our own instead. The roads are in great condition, you get a map and you can just drive around as you like. There`s another waterhole with a nice bird hide and a picnic spot on the other side of the waterhole, saw very interesting bird species there. All in all: Value for money was awesome, we would return!
