Ashleigh House is set in Carlisle, 41 km from Askham Hall, 30 km from Thirlwall Castle, and 36 km from Brougham Castle. Excellent guest house with a fairly spacious, well appointed room, a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom and great shower. Leanne was a very gracious host who provided for all our needs and prepared a great breakfast to order.

Fellpack House in Keswick provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a bar and a shared lounge. Featuring a housekeeping service, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. I don't know where to start listing all the good things about this hotel. It is a beautiful, old but newly and elegantly renovated house. The room was clean and comfortable, it had great shower and comfy beds. The breakfast was amazing with lots of intetesting and tasty warm dishes to choose a la carte. The staff was super nice and friendly. We really felt like home.

Situated in Kirkby Lonsdale and with Trough of Bowland reachable within 28 km, Red Dragon Inn features a restaurant, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. Great breakfast, lovely evening meal and friendly staff. Room a nice size, it’s our 5th stay so must be good!

Situated in Grasmere, 12 km from Windermere, Victorian House features parking is limited and offered on a first come and first served basis. The rooms come with a flat-screen TV. The rooms were really nice and well maintained. Our bathroom was also really clean and comfortable. The breakfast every morning was also really good, you always had a nice choice of fresh made breakfast items. The staff was also really helpful and kind. All in all it was a really good experience. The location itself is also perfect. Grasmere is ideally situated if you're looking into a holiday with lots of walking.

The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. Great location in the center of beautiful Grasmere village. Quiet with some ground around it. Huge comfortable and well equipped rooms. Dedicated parking spots. Great base for starting walks or for going to restaurants and bars in the town. Good breakfast, complimentary scones’n’cream, very helpful staff.

In beautiful Lakeland surroundings overlooking an idyllic brook, Glencree is situated between the villages of Bowness and Windermere. Our stay at Glencree absolutely exceeded our expectations! The room was gorgeous, very modern and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious, with a selection of cereals to choose from, fresh fruit and breakfast cooked to order. Great location, and lots of parking in the church across the road if the guest spots are taken. Would highly recommend Glencree to anyone looking for a stay in Windermere.

Set in the village of Bowness, Latimer House Guest House offers 4-star accommodation with views of its surrounding gardens and of the village. Nice clean apartment With extra space and great location 10 mins to the lake and few mind walk to city center and train station

Highfield features great lake and mountain views and its own private car park. The beautiful rooms have en suite bathrooms and tea/coffee making facilities. Clean, tidy and all the bits you need for a comfortable stay. Lovely location and friendly service.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. Wonderful stay in the heart of Ambleside!

A modern hotel in a historic building, comfortable relatively spacious room, excellent breakfast. You can take several nice short walks in the gardens of the property, one leads to the ruins of the Furness Abbey. Make sure that the hotel does not host a wedding during your stay if you want to avoid loud music
