Zzz Malang is hands down the best budget-friendly hostel in town. The dorm room was spacious and had good ventilation. The bunk beds were comfortable, and each bed had its own power socket and towel. The bathrooms were spotless and fully stocked with essentials. The hostel is in a quiet area, but a 10-minute Grab ride takes you to the train station. Lila was very welcoming and helped me book transport to Yogyakarta. Highly recommended for backpackers looking for comfort without breaking the bank!

The price was very good, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We met a lot of interesting people while we were there, and there’s a really nice local community vibe. The location is excellent — close to lots of shops and restaurants that stay open late. Most of all, the room was impeccable: beautiful Javanese design, lovely wooden doors, and the air-conditioning worked perfectly, which was a big plus. I can’t recommend this stay highly enough.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming new homestay! The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxed stay. What really made our experience special was the lovely guide who was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. The host was equally welcoming and made us feel right at home. Although the homestay is located a bit outside of the center, it’s quiet and peaceful — and the value for money is absolutely amazing. For a newly opened place, everything was well thought out and we couldn’t have asked for more. Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a warm, affordable, and authentic experience!
