We spent 4 nights at Maruba Inn. Our room had a terrace straight onto the lake. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was hot. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and great value both in the evening and at breakfast, when we loved sitting on the restaurant balcony overlooking the lake, watching and listening to the birds in the trees. The motor scooters we hired from Maruba were excellent value and fabulous for getting round the island. They arranged our transfers from Medan and to Berastagi, and even gave us a lift to the next ferry stop when the ferry unexpectedly didn't pick us up nearby. And they gave us lots of great info.

immersed in nature it offers splendid rooms in huts and a central area where you can eat and hang out. The strong point of this place is the staff, really nice and prepared guys who make you feel good right away, it is possible to do tours in the jungle with them, we did the two-day one with our guides Rismanto and Risky who made us feel great, they are really wonderful people. Highly recommended

Perfect location: right by a stunning beach, in the village so not too remote and not far from the harbour, yet quiet and relaxing. The room is nice and air conditioned with a comfortable bed, there’s a big terrace too. The lady who runs the place and her staff are exceptionally friendly, helpful and welcoming. They helped us with absolutely everything we needed and asked for.

This is the most amazing place to stay. I've been to the jungle in India, Borneo and the Phillipines but Rambai Tree Eco Jungle Huts not only provided the most comfortable accommodation but they made us feel like family ❤️🙏. Romi and Tia communicated efficiently and clearly from the moment I booked, several months ago. They provided a very reasonably priced, friendly and knowledgeable return airport shuttle - Wayhu, and the best guides - Ronie and Nanda. We saw Orangutans, Gibbons, Thomas Leaf Monkeys, and a monitor lizard in just a half day trek! As well as being visited daily by the local Macaque troop and several large bats. Tia cooked us the most fantastic farewell dinner and we were genuinely sad to leave. Nothing was too much trouble for them ❤️

Beautiful room with a view overlooking the lake, the bed was the most comfortable we have stayed on our travels around Asia. The breakfast is delicious! The guesthouse has recently opened and been refurbished in a modern way with a Balinese feel. The family are so friendly and helpful as are the staff.

The accommodation is in a beautiful and peaceful area overlooking the mountains. However it's also convenient with many stores nearby. The hosts are incredibly kind ,hospitable and always happy to help or give recommendations. Highly recommend!
