- Dimmer is a fantastic host. He picks us up his guests at the piers and answers every question you may have. - The place is well situated, just outside Tuktuk main area. - We had a room in the garden, the bed is comfortable and it is quiet at night. - Kettle and fridge in the room. - Good wifi. - Possibility to rent a scooter. There are in good conditions and with a full tank. - Good restaurant next door, for your breakfast. We'll book here again if we visit again Samosir island.

We stayed there before and after a 4 day jungle trek during the low/wet season. The bungalow was located on the river, right at the edge of the jungle. There are frequently macaque and Thomas's leaf monkeys in the trees and jumping on the roof. You can leave non-food items on the patio (like clothes drying after the jungle), but the host advised us to keep the door locked when we aren't around to keep them from coming in. We specifically chose somewhere without AC to acclimatize to the temperature and humidity, but ventilation inside was good. Porters met us at our taxi to carry the luggage through the village and across the bridge, which was appreciated.

The place was very cosy and the rooms were comfortable ! All the staff was just amazing and very helpful ! Thank you for your kindness 🙏🏼 We made the one night jungle trek and it was just an incredible experience ! The camp was very privative and we were alone in the middle of nowhere. This is one of the nicest places (guesthouses) I have ever stayed on my travels. I had 1 of the 2 rooms downstairs right by the water, get up and from your bed you have a view of the lake and the mountains.  Fantastic owner Nia but also a very good and friendly team behind her give you a very welcome feeling right away. I really can't say anything negative about this accommodation. Please note that this is a guesthouse, not a 5* luxury hotel.  The small beautifully maintained garden and all the plants everywhere contribute to a very nice atmosphere.  Please note that the rooms downstairs are more difficult to reach for people who are not very mobile due to the steep stairs (15 steps). There are rooms higher up but of course they lack the charm of staying close to the water.  The restaurant of this guesthouse (with a very nice view) is also worth it. A few special things on the menu but super tasty; definitely try the immune booster. The best restaurants for dinner for me (Hub Tata restaurant closes at 7PM) are on the other side of Tuktuk (15-20 minutes walk) but you can also rent a scooter at Nia.  I would have liked to stay longer but the room was fully booked so book in advance and keep in mind that the Samosir peninsula is so nice that you will probably want to stay longer than planned.

The best place I've ever stayed full stop. Phenomenal hosts who went over and above to make sure everyone was looked after and had the best time ever in padang. It may seem like it's a bit out of the way but it's a 2 dollar grab to town and it's a lovely quiet place out in the village. Don't hesitate to book here

Beautiful villa’s in a secluded garden and a very tranquil environment. The staff lead by Deddycool (Mr. Processing and leader of the band) is wonderful and serves great food all day long. Within walking distance are rice paddies, a botanical garden and the bat cave, worthwhile a visit. The team organised an unforgettable 2 day 1 night jungle trekking for us, with guides Tondi and Bamba. And all of this at reasonable pricing. We would love to come again!
