We stayed 4 nights in Campuhan Guesthouse to escape the tourist crowds. You can always enjoy the sound of the nearby river and waterfall, plus amazing service and cooking (the food is delicious!). Leaning back to enjoy the sun next to the pool is also always an option. The entire hotel area is clean and well kept. It's actually even nicer than in the pictures, which surprised us. Additional benefit: they have 3 cats that are walking around or sleeping somewhere, which is really cute.

Staying in this villa was one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever had in Bali. From the moment I arrived, I felt an immediate sense of peace — the kind you only find deep in nature. The entire villa is made of bamboo, and being surrounded by the forest felt like living inside a dream. Every morning I woke up to the sound of birds, the smell of fresh greenery, and the soft light coming through the trees. It was impossible not to feel calm and grateful. The hosts were truly exceptional. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind people. They took such good care of me, always making sure I had everything I needed, yet giving me all the privacy to enjoy the space. Their hospitality felt heartfelt, not forced. It really made the whole experience feel special. The villa itself is stunning — thoughtfully designed, clean, cozy, and full of beautiful details. I loved the swinging daybed, the open structure, the garden, and of course the private pool overlooking the jungle. The floating breakfast was incredible; enjoying it in such a peaceful, tropical setting felt surreal. What also stood out was the location. It’s close enough to Ubud to reach everything easily, but far enough to feel completely disconnected from noise, traffic, and crowds. It truly feels like a private sanctuary. At night, the sound of the jungle was so calming, and during the day the whole place felt bright, green, and alive. This villa gave me exactly what I needed — relaxation, comfort, nature, and a feeling of being cared for. I’m so grateful for this stay, and I will definitely come back. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentic, peaceful, and full of soul, this is the perfect choice.

Jatiluwih Santya Loka Lodge & Twin Waterfall Managed by Manara ligger i Jatiluwih, 37 km fra Blanco Museum, og har en have, en terrasse og gratis privat parkering. I loved how welcome I felt. The room is simple and comfortable with incredible wifi, which was great because I had some work to do before disconnecting and enjoying the beautiful nature. I will definitely be back!

I loved everything about it—the room, the views, the food, and the incredibly friendly and helpful team. I hope I can return one day!

JANE’S HOUSE & SPA BEDUGUL BALI ligger i Pacung, 33 km fra Blanco Museum, og har en have, en terrasse og grillfaciliteter samt gratis privat parkering. Overnatningsstedet ligger ca. Kekut’s self-built house is perfect for the nice and cool ~20°C weather in Bedugul (1.3km above sea level). It’s private, has its own fence and gate and only 2 houses in the property, each housing only 2 pax. All the basics are well-covered: drinking water dispenser, hot shower water, stable power, even a small kitchen if you want to do some meal prep. Breakfast was a large spread and everything was delicious and personally prepared by Kekut every morning! Many key attractions (strawberry farms, temples, waterfalls, lakes) are just maybe half an hour’s drive away. We were very lucky to be able to hire Kekut to drive us around, including airport transfer. Through him, we’ve learnt so much about Balinese culture and traditions, and now we really understand why this part of Indonesia is so unique and popular. He is also super patient and friendly and very respectful of our personal space. I hope many more tourists will get the same experience we did, because I honestly think it’ll be one of the best ones I’ll ever have in my life. Thank you Kekut, if I return to the region I will definitely return.
