However, just beyond the entryway, lies a small courtyard. The family uses the space for laundry, fruit trees, bicycles, and other storage. Once you are on the other side of the compound, you gain access to large rooftops that give you a view of the local temples.

The hotel is located about 3km away from Gwalior Fort and the train station - just a short tuk tuk ride away. It’s off the noisy main street, but feels like a heavenly calm oasis: quiet and tranquil. The room is as described: spacious, comfortable, and spotless. It smells fresh, too! Both rooms on the top floors are open to a terrace with view of Gwalior Fort. My very simple breakfast did seem amazing with that view.
